Climate Smart Communities(CSC) Karen gave a background on CSC for those new volunteers attending or those who needed a reminder. She mentioned the Town's original Climate Smart Community certification in 2016 at the bronze level and that the Town renewed this certification in March of this year, also at the bronze level, but also that we secured additional points, and we submitted more actions in July of this year. One major action that was just approved was the Town's Greenhouse Gas Inventory. The next action plan to be worked on is the "Climate Action Plan"and the NYS DEC is supplying technical assistance to help with this. Climate Emergency Declaration Draft Response The Collabs are drafting a deliverable for the Town Board. As sanitation meetings are ongoing between Town Supervisor and Larchmont Mayor, no changes can currently be made re:potential food scrap recycling pick up until sanitation issues are resolved. Regarding the Tree Code, there will be a discussion of this at the Oct. P work session of the TB meeting. Discussion ensued regarding a tree cutting moratorium and that there is some disappointment among Collabs that this didn't happen since it is taking so long to revise the tree law and could the moratorium idea be revisited. Comprehensive Plan Update Karen reminded everyone to fill out the Community Needs survey if they haven't already done so as it is open just until end of September. She pointed out that the survey will be used for consultants to draft Town policies. Mark K. suggested we send out another reminder to complete survey. Update: The survey was eblasted out once again. Repair Cafe Kevin spoke about Repair Cafe recruiting and that they have several volunteers to help at the event as well as fixers for varied categories, but more are needed.
