HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003_09_17 Town Board Minutes MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS HELD ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2003 AT 9:30 PM IN THE COURT ROOM OF THE TOWN CENTER, 740 W. BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK PRESENT: Supervisor Valerie M. O'Keeffe Councilwoman Phyllis Wittner Councilwoman Judith A. Myers Councilman Ernest C. Odierna Councilwoman Nancy Seligson ALSO PRESENT: Patricia A. DiCioccio, Fire District Secretary Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator Carol Hoffman, Chair of the Fire District Election Inspectors Supervisor O'Keeffe said the Board was meeting in special session to accept the tally of votes from the Fire District Election. She said the election was held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and she then introduced Carol Hoffman who served as Chair of the Inspectors. Ms. Hoffman said there was a total of 35 vote cast, with no absentee ballots. YES: 33 votes were cast NO: 2 votes were cast There were no void or affidavits ballots cast. Thereafter on motion made by Supervisor O'Keeffe, seconded by Councilwoman Wittner, it was unanimously RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby accept the Canvass of Votes as presented by the Chair of the Fire District Election, said Canvass showing 33 YES votes; 2 NO votes, thereby approving the Bond to pay for a partial reconstruction of the Weaver Street Firehouse at a cost of$188,000. The above resolution was put to a roll call vote: Seligson - Aye Odierna - Aye Myers - Aye Wittner - Aye O'Keeffe - Aye Report of Bids On motion of Councilwoman Wittner, seconded by Councilman Odierna, it was RESOLVED, that the Town Board does hereby award the bid for the reconstruction of the Weaver Street Fire House roof to Verrone Roofing who was the lowest responsible bidder for contract TA-03-05 Fire Headquarters Roof Repair/Renovations for$143,110; and BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that the Town Administrator is authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the Town.
