Chairman King called the meeting to order.

The Task Force returned to its meeting. One of our members, Diana Lovett, has resigned from the Task
Force. The Task Force expressed disappointment to lose one of our important and productive members.
New Business
1.Review Town of Mamaroneck Draft Report Police Reform and Reinvention
The Task Force discussed its dissatisfaction and disappointment with the draft report. We agreed that,
rather than try to edit, the body of the report should be rewritten to better reflect the conversations we
have been having over the last months regarding racial equity and justice and implicit bias that is
pervasive in our society. Several of our important recommendations were left out of the report and they
should be added back. It was further agreed that the explanations as to how the recommendations are
already being fulfilled are not necessary to the report.
Mr. Zeballos volunteered to do the initial drafting. Mr. Tannenbaum will follow up with edits. The draft
will be put up on Google Docs for Task Force input and the resulting report will be discussed at our next
meeting.
The Task Force discussed the calendar which is now very tight. We will not ask for an extension from the
State. We hope to be able to finalize a draft to send to the Town Board at our next meeting. If we can
th
meet that deadline and the Town Board can discuss our draft at its March 17 meeting, we can elicit
public comment the following week.
The next meeting of the Racial Equity Task Force will be Monday, March 8 at 7:00pm via Zoom.
