TOWN OF MAMARONECK,
held, August 9th, 1922.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton_
at 10.05 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Boyd and Collins,
Town Clerk Sherman.
The minutes of the meetings of June 21st, July 5th, 17th,
19th, 21st, 24th and 27th, 1922 were read and upon motion approved.
Supervisor Burton reported that he had made payments on
the following bonds and certificates of indebtedness. $1,000
Voting Machine Bond, $9,000 Sewer District Bonds, $2,000 Fire App-
aratus Bonds, $2,000 Boston Post Road Bonds issue of 1912, Cer-
tificate of Indebtedness for unpaid State and County Taxes in the
amount of $15,674.79, certificate of indebtedness for unpaid State
and County Taxes in the amount of $15,000, and certificate of in.
debtedness for the new Weaver Street Fire house site in the amount
of $8,500.00.
The Supervisor also reported that he did not issue the
certifiacte of indebtedness for unpaid School taxes, as authorized
by this Board, as there is enough money on hand to take care of
same.
He also reported that under the awards made by this Board,
he had signed contracts for the new Weaver Street Fire House with
Kenneth Mackay & Co, general contract, $47,670, McGeough Bros,
heating, $2,500, Andrew Canini, plumbing, $1,676 and William
Quinlan, Electric, $353.00. He also reported that work has comm-
enced on the ground and excavation is under way.
Captain Nichols and delegation from the Weaver Street Fire
Company were presentand the Captain on behalf of the Company,
thanked the members of the Board for the good work accomplished
in getting the new fire house under way.
The Supervisor replied and spoke of the additional
features added to the original plans.
A communication from Captain Nichols was received and
read, requesting the purchase of supplies for the fire company.
The matter was Aferred to the Town Clerk to purchase same.
Receiver of Taxes McCivney was present and stated that
Mr. J. Healy had submitted a check in payment of taxes due April 1st,
affecting Section 2, Block 22, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 38, 39, 40 and 41. He
stated that Mr. Healy had submitted check in April when the taxes
were due but same had not been received at this office. He asked
the Board to cancel the interest and penalties affecting this prop-
erty.
Upon motion, duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that the Receiver of Taxes
be and he hereby is authorized and
empowered to cancel open taxes upon
his books, upon receiving the amount
due, $160.95 and that the interest
and penalties thereon be waived.
A communication from Mr. R. C. Heather was received and
read in relation to supplying lighting fixtures for the new
Weaver Street Fire House. The Communication was ordered placed
on file and the Clerk was instructed to reply to same.
A communication from the Board of Assessors in relation
to duplicate assessment of a parcel of land at the Pinebrook sub-
division was received and read and the matter was referred to the
Receiver of Taxes and the Board of Assessors to report back to
the Board at its next meeting.
Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.30 PM.
