HomeMy WebLinkAbout1922_07_27 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Town Board, TOWN OF MAMARONECK, held, July 27th, 1922. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9.00 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Collins and Shafer, Town Clerk Sherman. The matter of the awardirg of the Heating, Plumbing, and Electrical contracts was taken up by the Board and considered. After full discussion, it was upon motion, duly seconded, RESOLVED, that the proposal submitted McGeough Brothers for furnishing the labor and material in and about the installation of the heating system in the new Fire House Building in Fire District #1 of the Town of Mamaroneck, in accordance with the plans and spec- ifications therefor prepared by Messrs, Eggers & Mink, associate Architects, be and the same hereby is accepted; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to execute a contract in behalf of the Town of Mamaro- neck for said heating work, upon the bidder carrying out and complying with the terms of said proposal submitted, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to take any steps which may be necessary to carry the fore- going into full force and effect. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the proposal submitted by Andrew Canini for furnishing the labor and material in and about the install- ation of the plumbing system in the new Fire House Building in Fire District #1 of the Town of Mamaroneck in accordance with the plans and specifications there- for prepared by Messrs. Eggers & Mink, associate Architects, be and the same is hereby accepted and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and Town Clerk be and they hereby are author- ized and empowered to execute ax contract in behalf of the Town for said plumbing work, upon the bidder carrying out and complying with the terms of said proposal submitted by it; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and the Town Clerk be and they hereby are auth- orized and empowered to take any steps which may be necessary to carry the fore- going resolution into full force and effect. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the proposal submitted by William Quinlan for furnishing the labor and material in and about the installation of the electrical sytem in the new Fire House Building in Fire District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck, in accordance with the plans and specifications therefor pre- pared by Messrs. Eggers & Mink, associate Architects, be and the same hereby is acc- epted; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and the Town Clerk be and they hereby are auth- orized and empowered to execute a contract in behalf of the Town for said electrical work, upon the bidder carrying out and complying with the terms of said proposal submitted; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED. that the Supervisor and the Town Clerk be and they hereby are auth- orized and empowered to take any steps which may be necessary to carry the fore- going into full force and effect. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. The following resolution was offered by Justice Collins and seconded by Justice Boyd: WHEREAS, it is the sense of this Board that a competent man be employed by the Town for the purpose of supervising the construction of the new Fire House Building about to be erected in Fire District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck, NOW THEREFORE BE N RESOLVED, that J. G. Henry Harlach, be and hereby is appointed Supervisor of Con- struction of the new Fire House Building about to be erected in Fire District No. 1 and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that his compensation be and hereby is fixed at the sum of 1 1/2% of the cost of construction of said fire house. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10.15 P.M. Frederick M. Sherman Town Clerk.
