Town of Mamaroneck, held on
July 24th, 1922.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton. at
8.45 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer,
Town Clerk Sherman.
The matter of awarding the contracts for the erection of
the new weaver Street Fire House was taken up and after full dis-
cussion, it was upon motion by Justice Collins, seconded by Justice
Shafer,
RESOLVED, that the awarding of the Plumbing,
Heating and Electrical contracts be deferred
until Thursday evening, July 27th, 1922 at
8.30 P.M.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted.
The next order of business was the matter of awarding the
general contract. The Supervisor stated that the erection of the
new Weaver Street Fire House in Fire, Lighting and water Supply
District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck, is being done by the Town
Board pursuant to authorization granted to it in Chapter 561 of the
Laws of 1921, that the amount to be expended for said construction
is fixed in the aforesaid bill.
He stated that the Town Board had considered all bids
submitted in accordance with the proposals; that it had been nec-
essary to change in certain particulars the plans and specifications
so that the Fire House could be constructed within the amount avail-
able; that the lowest bidders had been given an equal opportunity to
refigure on the amended plans and specifications and that the Board
had considered all bids received and was now ready to make the
award.
Upon motion by Justice Shafer, seconded by Justice Dudley,
it was,
RESOLVED, that Kenneth Mackay & Co. Inc.,
of Yonkers, New York, having bid the sum
of $47,670.00 for the general construction
contract for the construction of the new
Fire House Building of Fire, Lighting and
Water Supply District No. 1 of the Town of
Mamaroneck, in accordance with the drawings
and descriptions in the specifications
prepared by Messrs. O. R. Eggers and C. F. Mink,
associate Architects, and in accordance
with the changes duly made in said plans
and specifications and in accordance with
the notice of sale and the said bid being
the lowest bid therefor, the said general
construction contract is hereby awarded to
Kenneth Mackay and Co. Inc., and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor
and Town Clerk be and they hereby are
authorized and empowered to execute a
contract in behalf of the Town for said
construction work, upon the bidder
carrying out and complying with the
terms of said proposal submitted by it,
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Supervisor
and Town Clerk be and they hereby are
authorized and empowered to take any
steps which may be necessary to carry
the foregoing resolution into full
force and effect. And be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the check of
Hunt, Dodge and Co, be withheld until
the contract for the construction of
the new Weaver Street Fire House be-
tween Kenneth Mackay and Co. Inc and
the Town of Mamaroneck, shall have been
executed.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted.
Upon Motion, duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he
hereby is authorized and empowered to
notify the unsuccessful bidders to app-
ear in person for their certified checks
submitted with their bids.
Application for a bus line from the Westchester & Boston
Station was made by the Blue Bird Taxi Co., and the matter was
referred to the Police Commission and a Committee from this Board.
The Supervisor appointed the following Committee: Justice Shafer
and Town Clerk Sherman.
Upon motion., the meeting adjourned at 10.00 P.M.
