HomeMy WebLinkAbout1922_07_17 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK held July 17th, 1922. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9.00 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer Town Clerk Sherman, Counsellor Gamble. The Supervisor stated that the meeting had been called for the purpose of receiving and opening bids for the erection of the new Weaver Street Fire House, and upon motion, duly seconded, it was VOTED, that the call of the meeting and notice of advertisement, be and the same is hereby approved. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the bids received pursuant to said advertisement be now opened. The Town Clerk proceeded to open and read each of the bids received, all of which were accompanied by a certified check and are as follows: GENERAL John H. Eisele Co. The Board reconvened at 10.20 P.M. Upon motion by Justice Shafer, seconded by Justice Dudley, it was RESOLVED, that the bids submitted be held and plaoed on file and that the awarding of the contracts be deferred until Monday July 24th, 1922, at a at a special meeting of the Board at 8.30 o'clock P.M. Supervisor Burton stated Mrs. Gladys Feldman had app- eared before him in relation to an error on the assessment roll, having been assessed for $18,000 instead of $16,000, on the 1920 assessment roll. He also stated that Mrs. Feldman is willing to pay the tax on the $18,000 assessment provided the interest and penalties thereon are waived. Whereupon the following resolution was offered by Justice Dudley and seconded by Justice Collins: WHEREAS, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 in Block 83, Section 9, Town of Mamaroneck, and owned by Mrs. Gladys Feldman were assessed as per 1920 assessment roll at a value of $18,000 and WHEREAS, said lots were assessed as per the 1919 and 1921 assessment rolls at $16,000 and WHEREAS, it appears that said assessment for the year 1920 was made in error, therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to accept from Mrs. Gladys Feldman the sum of $136.60 as School taxes for the year 1921 and to waive the interest and pen- alties as noted thereon, and to make the necessary corresponding corrections on the assessment roll on said property. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.20 P.M. Frederick M. Sherman Town Clerk.
