HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921_11_22 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Town Board in conjunction with the Weaver Street Fire Company held at the Weaber Street Fire House, Edgewood Road, Larchmont, N.Y., November 22nd, 1921. The meeting was called to Order by Supervisor Burton at 8.45 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Collins, Dudley and Shafer, Town Clerk Sherman. The Supervisor stated that the meeting hat been called in conjunction with the members of the Weaver Street Fire Company to discuss the plans and sketches submitted for the erection of the new fire house. He asked that the program, report of Archit- ectural Advisor und report of Committee be read which the Clerk proceeded to read. Upon action. duly seconded it was VOTED, that the meeting be opened for discussion. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Justice Shafer and seconded by Justice Dudley, That the prize under the competition be awarded to Mr. James W. O'Connor of 162 East 77th Street, as the winner of the competition and it was further RESOLVED, that the Town Board reserves the right to adopt any plan that in its judgement is best suited to the community. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. The following resolution van cferred by Justice Collins and seconded by Justice Dudley. WHEREAS, the Supervisor of the Town of Mamaroneck has heretofore and on Oct- ober 17th, 1921, received from the Re- ceiver of Taxes of said Town a verified account of unpaid State & County taxes aggregating the sum of $30, 674,79; now therefore, be it RESOLVFD, that pursuant to the provis- ions of the Westchester County Tax law the Supervisor of said Town be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to borrow upon the credit of the Town of Mamaroneck a sum of not more than $30,674.79 for which sum he shall issue in the name and under the seal of said Town, against uncollected 1921 State and County taxes, one or more certificates of indebtedness, each of such denomination as the Supervisor may determine. Said cerificates of in- debtedness shall be signed by the said Supervisor, countersigned by the Town Clerk, bear interest at the rate of not more than 6% per annum and shall be made payable at such time as the Supervisor may fix. And it is fur- ther RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and hereby is authorized and emowered to dispose of said certificates for not less than the par value thereof The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.30 P.M. Town Clerk.
