HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921_11_14 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Town Board, TOWN OF MAMARONECK, held, November 14th, 1921. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9.00 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer, Town Clerk Sherman. Upon motion it was voted to dispense with the reading of minutes of meetings not yet approved. The resignations of officers Shutz and Cullen were received and read and upon the recommendation of Captain Decker it was RESOLVED, that the resignations of Peace Officers Shutz and Cullen of Fire District No. 1 be accepted, same to take effect as of November 14, 1921. CARRIED. Captain Decker recomnended the appointment of Augustus Sloat as Peace Officer and upon his recommendation it was RESOLVED, that Augustus Slaot be appointed as Peace Officer of Dist. No. 1 at a probationary salary of $125.00 per month same to be paid semi-monthly. The question being taken upon the forehoing motion, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Captain Decker spoke of the need of a new motorcycle and upon his recommendation, it was RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to purchase a new motorcycle for the Town at a cost not to exceed $405.00 same to be made a proper Town charge. The question being taken upon the foregoing motion, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adapted. Captain Decker recommended the appointment of Frank Meyer as Peace Officer and upon the Captain's recommendation it was RESOLVED, that Frank Meyer be app- ointed as Peace Officer of Dist., No. 1 at a probationary salary of $120.00 per month sale to be paid semi-monthly. The question being taken upon the foregoing motion, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. A communication with bill attached from Mr. Phillip G. Kessler, against the Town of Mamaroneck for money expended in installing a water pipe through Boulder Road from Forest Ave, to Villa Road in the Woods of Larchmont was received and read and after discussion, same was referred to Counsel. Upon motion duly seconded it was VOTED, that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to purchase for the use of his office a cabinet and a set of consolidated laws. The question being taken upon the foregoing motion, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Justice Shafer requested 12 adlitional chairs for his office and upon his recommendation it was VOTED, that the Clerk be authorized to procure 12 chairs for the office of Justice Shafer, ; The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10.40 P.M. Town Clerk.
