CALL TO ORDER ( a.,-.`\
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jacobson at 8:05 p.m.
Mr. Jacobson informed the Board that CLOCK TOWER ASSOCIATES/Robert Stan7iale - 2 Madison
Avenue-Block 133 Lot 602 - facade (adjourned 7/16/98; 8/20/98), the first item on the agenda, will not
be present this evening. Mr. Stanziale, the representative for Clock Town Associations, has requested an
adjournment to the next meeting.
Chairman Jacobson read the next application as follows:
MRS. GREEN'S NATURAL MARKET/Robert Lewis-2444 Boston Post Road-Block 503 Lot 137-
signs (adjourned 8/20/98)
Mr. Jacobson summarized what had transpired in reference to this matter from the last meeting. At the
last meeting, the Board affected a good compromise between what the tenant and the Board wished to
achieve.
Mr. Lewis said the wording, "Mrs. Green's", was a 5 in. deep letter, with white insert and outline of
green. Natural Market was originally proposed as solid green. The total height of the lettering was 30
in. The Board's requirement was to scale it down to 27 in. and proportionately scale down the logo carrot
and to change the Natural Market to the green outline with white insert.
Mr. Jacobson said that some Board members felt, at that time, that the predominant color of the shopping
center is red and that the solid green letters were too much.
Mr. Lewis said the total length of the sign is reduced to 25 ft. from 28 ft. for the original sign. This is
less than Nature's Warehouse which is 27 ft. The side sign is identical. The refacing of the directory
signs that are at the Boston Post Road will have an identical letter style.
Mr. Lewis asked if there was previously a variance on the property for two signs and if the same is being
done in terms of signage/height or less signage, why the need for a new variance?
Mr. Carpaneto said that once the sign changes, a new variance is required.
Mr. Immerman said, for the record, on the new submission for the pylon signage, the width is listed as
2 ft. 6 in. which Mr. Immerman thinks is a mistake, as the old submission said 5 ft. 6 in.
Mr. Lewis said it is a mistake, and corrected same.
