HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921_09_21 Town Board Minutes Meetirg of the Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK, held, September 21st,1921. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9.45 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Collins and Dudley, Town Clerk Sherman, Counsellor Gamble. The minutes of the meetings of August 10th, 17th and 22nd 1921, were read and upon motion approved. The report of the Receiver of Taxes for the month of August 1921, was received, read, ordered placed on file and is as follows; September 1st,1921. Palmer Howell, Receiver of Taxes. The report of the Building Commission was received and read, showing fees received for the month of August, 1921, for building and blasting permits amounting to $97.00. Same was ordered noted in the minutes and placed on file. The Police report for the month of August, 1921, showing 19 arrests with fines amounting to $365.00 was re- ceived, read, ordered noted in the minutes and placed on file. The report of the Town Clerk for the month of August 1921, received read, ordered placed on file and is as follows; September 1st, 1921. Hon. Geo. T. Burton, Supervisor, Town of Mamaroneck, N.Y. Dear Sir: I herewith respectfully report the amount of fees collected in the office of the Town Clerk for the month of August, 1921, as follows; Dog licenses issued 19 $4.75 Lost tags " 1 .25 Hunting Licenses " 10 2.50 Fishing " " 11 .50 Marriage " 7 7.00 Chattels filled 36 4.32 Total amount of fees, $19.32 Check covering amount made to the order of the Super- visor. Respectfully submitted, Sgnd, Frederick M. Sherman. Town Clerk. A communication from Captain Decker was received and read, requesting the dismissal from the police force of Garritt D. Schor for the good of the service. Captain Denker who was present was asked to actress the Board and after full explanation it was upon motion duly seconded. RESOLVED, that the recommendation of Captain Decker be granted in asking for the resignation of Garritt D. Schor from the police force, same to take effect as of September 1st, 1921. The Supervisor reported the overpayment by check of taxes by John Isbister and after full discussion the following resolution was adopted. WHEREAS, John Isbister in making pay- ment of taxes for the year 1921 by check, erroneously overpaid the amount due and owing to the extent of $100. and WHEREAS, the Receiver of Taxes of the Town of Mamaroneck has received and holds to the credit of the Town of Mamaroneck said amount and whereas said amount should be refunded, THEREFORE BE IT RESCUED, that the Super- visor be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to repay to John Isbister the sum of $100. erroneously paid on account of taxes, upon receipt from said Party of a proper receipt therefor. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was upon roll call unanimously adopted. The Clerk reported recent of policy insuring the Town Hall which was referred to Counsel who approved same as to suff- iency and form. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.15 P.M. Town Clerk.
