HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993_06_17 Board of Architectural Review Minutes MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK JUNE 17, 1993, IN THE SENIOR CENTER, TOWN CENTER 740 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD MAMARONECK, NEW YORK Present: E. Robert Wassman, Chairman James Fleming Ralph Heisel Robert Immerman Pamela Washington Joan Williams Also present: Michelle Bonsteel, Assistant Building Inspector CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wassman at 8:05 PM. APPROVAL OF MINUTES On motion of Mrs. Washington, seconded by Mr. Wassman, the minutes for February 18, 1993 were unanimously approved. On motion of Mrs. Washington, seconded by Mr. Wassman, the minutes for March 18, 1993 were unanimously approved. On motion of Mrs. Williams, seconded by Mr. Heisel, the minutes for May 20, 1993 were approved as corrected. METROPOLIS WESTCHESTER LANES - 2444 Boston Post Road - Block 503 Lot 137 Signs, banners and revisions Andrew Fredman, architect, appeared. He stated that the developers are still seeking tenants for the space on the Post Road and that he was seeking input from the Board. Mr. Fredman stated that the pilasters will frame the entrances and that the grids will house the signs and add depth and color. It is planned that the grid will be durano ic, not be back lit, and might have channel lettering. Mr. Heisel did not favor a large grid and suggested that it could run between the pilasters. It was suggested that the entrances could be off-center. The request for banners was not precise. It was noted that the Sign Ordinance is ambivalent about banners. This matter was adjourned. Mr. Fredman was requested to return with a rendering of the entire building and with specific details for the banners. Board of Architectural Review June 17, 1993 -2- LARCHMONT ACRES WEST - Richbell and Burton Roads - Block 407 Lot 269 and Block 408 - Dumpster Enclosures Ainsley Ferraro, PE, appeared. Mr. Wassman read a letter from the Town's Consulting Engineer, Gary Trachtman, into the record. It stated that no Site Plan review would be required. Kathy Cunningham and Michael Salem, both residents of Larchmont Acres East, were observers. The Board requested more complete plans. It sought a plan showing the dumpster within the enclosure, more detailed drawings for the gates, and a planting plan for three sides of the dumpsters. On motion of Mrs. Washington, seconded by Mrs. Williams, the Board unanimously adjourned this matter ADJOURNMENT On motion of Mrs. Williams, seconded by Mrs. Washington, the meeting was adjourned at 9:35 PM.
