DJ LARCH REALTY TRUST - (Larchmont Diner) - 2399 Boston Post Road - Block 505 Lot 433 - Review and approve plans for facade, sign and rear addition. The owner, Nick Tsironis, appeared with a representative frau his builder, DeRaffeale Bros. They stated that, to facilitate movement within the kitchen, the walk-in refrigerator was being moved outside to its own structure. The builder st,_ted that the new, tinted glass will have thin mullions. Some of the glass will be reflective, not windows. The Board complimented Mr. Tsironis on the stucco arrangement. The applicant will return with a final design plan for the handicapped ramp. Mrs. Williams suggested planting San José junipers and planting columnar taxus in the corner of the parking lot. She also suggested filling in with cotoneasters. The members requested that the phone booth be moved frau the planting bed and that the newspaper vending machines be placed at the sidewalk. It was agreed that a new "clean" planting plan would be submitted by the applicant. Board of Architectural Review July 21, 1994 -2- On motion of Mr. Jacobson, seconded by Mr. Inimerman, it was unanimously stipulated that: The encasing aluminum of the walk-in refrigerator shall be clad in off-white, semi-gloss, baked enamel. The new sign plan shall be submitted to the BAR. The owner will try to have the telephone booth moved or removed. The vending machines for the newspapers will be relocated, preferably to the sidewalk. A planter shall be added at the left forecourt. A final landscaping plan shall be submitted to the BAR. DOCS - 1380 Boston Post Road - Block 409 Lot 192 - Landscaping plan. Dennis Minelli, landscape architect, represented DOCS which is now affiliated with Beth Israel Hospital. The Board members were very annoyed with the lack of follow-through for this site. Plans had been approved over the last few years, and nothing would be done. Occupancy would change and still nothing would be improved. On motion of Mr. Jacobson, seconded by Mrs. Williams, the Board unanimously requested a new site plan for this site with plans drawn up by an architect.. Said plans will include landscaping and reflect extensive planting in front of the building. The Board did not preclude the removal of some of the blacktop. The matter was adjourned to the next meeting. PIZZA AND BREW - 1262 Boston Post Road - Block 407 Lot 192 - Facade. No one appeared for this matter. CARLTON HOUSE - 35 North Chatsworth Avenue - Block 134 - Dumpster enclosure. John DeRosa, Jr., managing agent, appeared. He stated that an unsightly, four-foot high, garbage corral is at the site. The residents wish to put a roof on it which would be painted to match the apartment building. Board of Architectural Review July 21, 1994 -3- On motion of Mrs. Washington, seconded by Mrs. Williams, the Board unanimously accepted the plan as filed. ELEVEN ALDEN TENANTS CORP. - Alden House - 11 Alden Road - Block 404 Lot 131 - Cellular installation. David Snyder, attorney, appeared. He stated that the antennas are 52" by 11" (approximately the size of a long flower box) . They will be attached to a 12' by 18' enclosure placed on the roof. Mr. Immerman stated that the Board needed much clearer drawings with specifics about the shed. Does it have a door? Will there be a ladder to it? How do the antennas really look? He suggested that planting around the shed might be appropriate. Mrs. Williams requested that trees be planted along the building near the antennas and that the dumpster enclosure be rehabilitated. Mr. Snyder promised more complete plans, and the matter was adjourned. EDWARDS REVIEW Mrs. Williams reported that she had toured the Edwards site accompanied by Paul Bernabe, the new Engineering aide. Plants need to be added to the planting beds, and the space between the Gap and Westchester Camera is a mess; and if it is a Town Easement area, it should be cleaned up. Mrs. Williams felt that a tree should be planted in front of the camera store. ADJOURNMENT On motion of Mr. Wassman, seconded by Mr. Jacobson, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 PM. Bonnie M. Burdick
