application was approved unanimously.

o one from the bank appeared, but the application was heard as there was
urgency concerning safety. This application is subject to review by the
CZMC.
On motion of Mrs. Washington, seconded by Mr. Fleming, the retaining wall
at 1350 Boston Post Road was approved unanimously with the following
conditions. The new wall will match the existing wall as closely as
possible in color and striations, the plant schedule as submitted shall be
implemented, a Kousa dogwood shall be planted on the southeast corner of
the Boston Post Road as was previously stipulated and the large hemlocks
against the wall of the neighboring animal hospital shall be examined by
the Town for damage to said wall and to determine remedies. The trees
could be root cut or removed and replaced. .
VILLAGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL - 6 Weaver Street - Block 410 Lots 163 and 173 -
Facade, signage and landscaping.
Wallace Berger, architect, and the builder represented the applicants,
Drs. Cohen and Hopper.
The property borders a residential area. The members, Mrs. Washington in
particular, found the design to be cold and not in keeping with its
charming predecessor which had touches of art deco. Mrs. Washington was
most disturbed by the fenestration and urged that windows in the waiting
room have the capability for opening for cross ventilation.
Mr. Berger stated that stucco is traditionally a residential building
material, that the roof line is the same and that the building is in poor
condition. He also stated that the building is an animal hospital, not a
house.
On motion of Mr. Wassman, seconded by Mr. Fleming, the Board approved
unanimously the pole light with the stipulation that it have a baffle on
the residential side and recommended to the Zoning Board of Appeals that
Sign A on the plans be approved with the stipulation that the side facing
the residential area be unlit.
Mr. Wassman requested Mr. Berger to reconsider his plans and to return to
this Board with more details concerning fenestration, the entrance and
door, colors and roof samples.
ADJOURNMENT
On motion of Mr. Wassman, seconded by Mr. Fleming, the meeting was
adjourned at 9:40 PM.
