HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016_02_22 Board of Architectural Review Minutes BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW FEBRUARY 22, 2016 Roll Call. Present: Ken Ricci, Acting Chair, Donald Meeker, Diane Neff. Absent/Excused: Edward Jacobson, Chairman, Joseph Shein. CALL TO ORDER 2417 Boston Post Road Façade The meeting was called to order at 8:02 P.M. Pellegrino Orsini, the applicant’s architect, addressed the Board stating they changed the façade as per the Boards suggestions and removed the scoring in the stucco that represented stones. The Board discussed the front of the building, the fascia, the materials (stone and stucco) and the colors (warm sand and moss) were discussed. The base is planned to be 3 feet high with 1 inch thick stone base with stucco above. The horizontal bands were discussed and the Board suggested it be larger to create shade and shadow. Lighting fixtures were discussed. Mr. Ricci stated that that this is a great improvement, and the building will have more presence. Motion: To approve the change to the façade of the building with the following conditions. Action: Approved Moved by Diane Neff, Seconded by Donald Meeker. Vote: Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote (summary: Yes = 3). Yes: Diane Neff, Donald Meeker, Ken Ricci. 1. The base will have a colonial Tan Ashlar natural thin stone veneer made by New England Stone Veneer (Stoneyard.com) 1 2. The fascia return on top of the stone base will be 1 inch thick and the fascia return on the top of the building will be 2 inches deep. 3. The light fixtures will be AEW 8077 with stainless steel finish as manufactured by Harrington. The applicant and his representatives thanked the Board.
