Chairman Jacobson stated that the Board of Architectural received a notice from the Planning Board stating their intent to be lead agency he stated that he will prepare a letter stating the BAR has no objection. MINUTES The minutes were tabled. APPLICATION NO. 1 BONNIE BRIAR COUNTRY CLUB SITE PLAN FENCE Benedict Salinitro, the applicant’s engineers, addressed the Board. Mr. Salinitro stated that the Club would like to install a 4 foot high wood fence to visually block the course from the road, to stop the garbage from blowing on to the course and to deter vandalism on the course. The fence would have a 3 foot high solid part with a 1 foot lattice topper. He explained that ivy would be planted and wild grass seed would be cast on the Weaver Street side of the fence. He also stated that evergreen planting would not survive the salt overspray from Weaver Street and would not be a good planting option on the street side of the fence. The Board had several concerns regarding the proposed wood fence. They felt that it would create a maintenance issue as far as the painting and up keep. The Board members also voiced concerns that the length of the fence un-landscaped on Weaver Street side would be stark. The Board discussed allowing the Club to continue the Vinyl fence that already exists further south on Weaver Street. After a brief adjournment and caucus the Board decided that to allow the vinyl fence in order to be consistent with the existing fence. The Board also stated that the Club would have to move the fence back far enough in order to sustain the proposed plantings along the Weaver Street side of the fence. 1 The Board also required plantings that would break up the long fence run and add verticality to the view as motorist drive along Weaver Street. A landscape architect must present the proposed landscaping plan addressing the Boards concerns at the next meeting.
