Present: Edward Jacobson, Chairman, Andrew Fredman, Donald Meeker, Diane Neff, Ken Ricci, Ronald Carpaneto, Building Inspector (Not voting), Ernest Odierna, Liaison (Not voting). Call to order at 8:00 p.m. Larchmont Car Wash 2434 Boston Post Road Sign Michael DiNadio part owner of the car wash and Mike DiGiacomo of Neptune Signs were present and addressed the Board. Mr. Jacobson stated that he thinks there is a problem with the proposed signage in concept, to allow a sign on the tower would create a redundancy, two signs saying the same thing and questioned whether there is a way to make the existing sign more effective. Mr. DiNadio stated that originally they had a different architect, and were approved for a tower sign. The second architect designed the existing sign which isn’t affective and doesn’t do much for advertising the car wash. Mr. Meeker, suggested dark grey translucent material behind the existing open letters to improve the present sign. The Board discussed the proposed signage and stated that 18 inches is to large, 12 inch letters would serve. The word Larchmont is not important to the message only “Car Wash” is necessary. Mr. Meeker stated an Aluca bond signage band could be attached to the building tower, with external illumination. Mr. Jacobson suggested to cap the tower with some kind of lighting, to shine down on the signage repeating car wash. The applicant stated they will return with a plan showing the Boards suggestions. 1 Mr. Jacobson stated an as built elevation drawing is needed illustrating, whatever is to be done, including the lighting, exploring the type face question. Repeating the words “Car Wash” to accentuate the drum is a good idea. MINUTES The Minutes were not discussed. New Business Mr. Odierna stated that the Town Board has been contemplating how the Land Use Boards can be more affective and make better use of the people’s time. The Town Board would like Board members to give consideration to how this can be implemented.
