MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK
MAY 21, 2009 IN THE COURT ROOM, TOWN CENTER
740 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK

CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Jacobson called the meeting to order at 8:00 PM.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Review and approval of the minutes was postponed.
1. 1 Washington Square
Mr. Jacobson stated that because only three board members present tonight, approval of an
application must be by unanimous vote. Therefore the applicant may either present this
evening or wait for a larger representation of the Board at a later meeting.
Mr. Fleming, the applicant’s architect, appeared and addressed the Board. Mr. Fleming stated
that the owner would like to make use of the area at ground level outside her apartment to
create a terrace similar to the one already in existence in the front of the building.
Mr. Fredman asked about the air conditioner in the window.
Ms. Lois Cohen, the owner answered Mr. Fredman’s question about the AC unit, stating that
she intends to remove the unit when the door is added and put a small unit in the window
behind the bushes.
Ms. Cohen stated that all she wishes to do is mirror the terrace of her neighbor in apartment C.
Mr. Jacobson stated that the request is very well laid out and has nothing to do with the
enclosed terraces in the rest of the building, which had been a major issue for the Board.
On motion duly made the Board approved the application 4-0.
On motion duly made the meeting was adjourned.
