MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
BOARD OF ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW OF THE TOWN OF MAMARONECK
AUGUST 16, 2007, IN THE SENIOR CENTER, TOWN CENTER
740 WEST BOSTON POST ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK

CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Jacobson called the meeting to order at 8:00 PM.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Minutes were not discussed.
MYRTLE BLVD. PARKING DECK Myrtle Blvd and Chatsworth Avenue.
Steve Altieri appeared to represent the Town Board.
The Board discussed the new submitted plan.
The Board felt that the new plan looked different from the August 2006 plan that the BAR
approved in concept in their letter to the Planning Board dated September 10, 2006.
The Board had the following comments and concerns:
1. The support columns should be enlarged, clad in brick and have a capital
on top.
2. The brick in the precast panel should run continuous across the arch up
to the coping.
3. The inside wall of the lower parking deck should not be left plain.
4. The stair case roof should be a standing seam not as shown on the plan,
and be more substantial.
5. Check the pitch of the elevation of the roof; it should be either 8 or 9 units
vertical and 12 units horizontal.
6. Exposed plywood in the stairwell should be addressed.
7. The lighting in the parking area should be addressed.
8. A single color brick with variation should be used as opposed to two
separate colors which appear too busy.
9. The precast concrete needs to be a warm tone.
10. The south end of the eastern exposure as seen from the Thruway needs
to be addressed.
11. The pineapple decorations on the columns and on the brick should be
removed.

Michael Belantoni submitted the plan showing the changes the Board requested.
The Board received the plan at the meeting and did not feel it was substantial enough.
Mr. Jacobson stated that he would contact Mr. Belantoni requesting that they resubmit a
plan showing what had been previously approved with the requested changes shown all
on one new plan.
The Board had the following comments and concerns.
1. The plan submitted did not show the whole concept only the changes,
and the Board requires a complete plan to make an informed decision.
2. The corner of Boston Post Road and Weaver Street should have more
plantings.
The Board approved that plan in concept with the proviso that the applicant would
resubmit the proposed changes to the Board. The Building Department will circulate the
revised plan for the approval of the Board without another meeting on this matter.

Applicant requested a postponement.
THE GAP - 1340 Boston Post Road
Applicant requested a postponement.
MERCEDES BENZ - 2500 Boston Post Road
Applicant requested a postponement.
VILLAGE SQUARE 1262 Boston Post Road
The applicant did not submit any new plans.
NEW BUSINESS
No new business.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the Board of Architectural Review will be held on September 20,
2007.
