APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Minutes of 12/14/06, 1/18/07, and 5/15/07 were Approved
CHASE BANK 1350 Boston Post Road
Michael Belantoni approached the Board and explained the planting plan, for Chase
Bank.
Mr. Belantoni explained that the present planting material at the site will be removed and
replaced. He stated that the existing plantings were about 30 years old and could not be
trimmed or shaped.
The Board had the following comments and concerns:
1. The hedge row parallel with Boston Post Road was too straight and
needed to be broken up. This could be done by either alternating
different species or by making the line irregular.
2. The pedestrian ramp to the building should have more colorful plantings
and be made
more interesting.
3. The applicant should investigate the possibility of enlarging the planting
bed in front portion of the parking lot in the area of the light pole.
4. The Board asked that the maintenance contract be as part of the
approval.
The Board approved that plan in concept with the proviso that the applicant would
submit the proposed changes to the Board. The Building Department will circulate the
revised plan for the approval of the Board without a second meeting on this matter.
Mr. Belantoni agreed to the Boards proposal.

MERCEDES BENZ - 2500 Boston Post Road

VILLAGE SQUARE 1262 Boston Post Road
Mike DeGiacomo from Neptune Signs appeared and addressed the Board and
explained the application.
Mike DeGiacomo said that the owner of the shopping center wished to make the sign
above Trader Joes and the directory sign more uniform.
The Board had the following comments and concerns:
1. The Board felt that the proposed clock face on the directory sign was too
busy and served no function.
2. The Board felt that the original type face for the sign was a better choice
than what is being proposed.
3. The Board felt that the base and post for the directory sign needed to be
re-thought.
4. The realtor/owner info needs to be removed from the sign.
5. The Board felt that the black banding around the sign was not
appropriate.
6. The Board felt that a more understandable plan should be presented
7. The Board explained that a variance would be required in order to
internally illuminate the proposed signs.
Mr. De Giacomo stated that the applicant probably would not continue with the
application.
NEXT MEETING
