HomeMy WebLinkAbout1921_08_03 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Town Board TOWN OF MAMARONECK, held, August 3rd, 1921. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9. 30 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton, Justices Boyd, Dudley and Shafer, Town Clerk Sherman, Counsellor Gamble. Upon motion it was voted to dispense with the reading of minutes of meetings not yet approved. Upon motion duly seconded it was VOTED, that the delegation who were present be given the privil- ege to be heard. Mr.Saporito one of these present representing the taximen of Larchmont, spoke in relation to the out of town buses operating at the Boston and Westchester Larchmont Station. Upon motion duly seconded it was VOTED, that the matter of buses operating at the Larchmont Stat- ion of the Boston & Westchester be left in the hands of the Sup- ervisor with power to take up with Captain Hines of the Larch- mont Village Police. The Board of Sewer Commissioners of Sewer District No. 1, appeared before the Board and reported that they had received bids for the construction of Sections No. 1 and 2 of the Sewer System of Sewer District No. 1 and that the amount of the cost of construction, including engineers' fees and other necessary expense, would be $120,000., and that they requested the Town Board to immediately authorize and direct the issuance and sale of bonds for the aforesaid amount. They filed a written report, and upon motion duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that the report be received, placed on file, spread upon the minutes and is as follows: August 2nd, 1921. Town Board, Town of mamaroneck, Gentlemen: On August 1st, 1921 this Commission opened bids for the construction of Sections Nos. 1 and 2 of the Sewer System in Sewer District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck. Based on these estimates we herewith respectfully report to you that the amount of the cost of the construction of Sections Nos. 1 and 2 of the Sewer System in Sewer District No. 1 of the Town of Manaroneck including Engineers' fees and other necessary expenses in connection there- with will be $120,000.00 We therefore request that you immediatly authorize and direct the issuance and sale of bonds for the aforesaid amount herein reported to wit: $120,000.00 which is in addition to the $130,000.00 heretofore auttorized. Respectfully yours, Board of Sewer Commissioners sgnd by, Robert H. Stevens, William I. Palmer, H.R.Mitchell. The Board of Sewer Commissioners also filed a written recommendation to the effect that the aforesaid bond issue, amounting to $120,000 matures $4,000 on July 1st of each year for the years 1922 to 1951 inclusive, and that they bear interest at the rate of six per centum (6%) . Upon motion duly seconded it was RESOLVED, that the recommendation of the Sewer Commissioners be filed with the records of the Town Clerk. After discussion, upon motion, duly seconded, it was RESOLVED, that Counsel be and he hereby is authorized, empowered and directed to prepare a resolution in proper form providing for the issuance of $120,000 Sewer Bonds, Sewer District No. 1 Town of Mamaroneck, same to be submitted to this Board for action and approval thereon at its next meeting which is to be held on August 10th, 1921; and it was FURTHER RESOLVED, that Counsel be and he hereby is authorized, and empowered to prepare a resolution in proper form to be presented by Supervisor Burton at a special meeting of the Board of Sup- ervisors, County of Westchester, to be held August 8th, 1921, said resolution to authorize the Town of Mamaroneck to borrow the sum of $120,000 upon sewer bonds of District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck, and to issue its bonds therefore, and provide for principal and interest of said bonds. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution same was upon roll call adopted by the following vote. AYES: Messrs, Burton, Boyd, Dudley, Shafer, Sherman. NAYS: None. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 11.00 P.M. Town Clerk.
