TOWN OF MAMARONECK
held, April 20th, 1921
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton
at 9.30 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justice Boyd, Collins and Dudley
Deputy Clerk Sherman,
Counsellor Gamble.
The minutes of the meetings of March 25th and April
6th, 1921 were read and upon motion approved,
The report of the Receiver of Taxes for the month
of March 1921, was received, read, ordered place on file and
is as follows:-
April 1st, 1921.
Sir:
Pursuant to Section 23 of the Westchester County Tax
Law I hereby respectfully report the amount of State, County,
Town, School, Highway and Special District taxes, together with
the interest and penalties thereon, collected by me during the
month of March, 1921.

The report of the Town Clerk for the month of March
1921 was received, read, ordered placed on file and it as
follows:

I herewith report the amount of fees collected in
the Town Clerk's office for the month of March 1921, as follows;
Dog liscenses issued 19 $4.75

The police report for the month of March 1921, was
received and read showing 30 arrests and total fines amounting
to $395.00 was ordered noted in the minutes and placed on file.
The report of the Supervisor for the month ending
March 31st, 1921 was received, read, ordered placed on file
and is as follows:-
April 1st, 1921.

A communication from the Mamaroneck Sound Side Real
Estate Co. was received requesting an increase in rental of the
Town Offices to $100.00 per month.
Upon motion duly seconded it was
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and
he hereby is authorized and empowered
to conclude the rental of the Town
Offices with the Mamaroneck Sound Side
Real Estate Co. at a rental not to ex-
ceed $100.00 per month.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was upon ROLL CALL, unanimously adopted.
A communication from the Larchmont Gardens Association
was received requesting the Town Board to furnish a map for a
Sewer District comprising the Sheldrake Valley.
The communication was ordered received, placed on file
and the following Committee were appointed to take the matter up
with a Committee of the Larchmont Gardens Association, and the
Clerk was instructed to notify the Secretary of the Association
of the action of this Board.
The Committee is as follows; Justice Collins and Dudley.
A communication from the state Commission of Prisons,
Albany New York was received and read, requesting the appearance
before that body in relation to contemplated improvements at the
Town Lockup.
Upon motion, duly seconded it was
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor and
Counsel be and they hereby are
authorized and empowered to go to
Albany to appear before the State
Commission of Prisons in relation
to improvements at the Town Lock-
up.
The question being taken upon the foregoing motion,
same was upon ROLL CALL, carried.
A communication from the Conservation Commission,
Albany New York was received and read in relation to the appoint-
ment of Fire Wardens for the Town of Mamaroneck. Same was
ordered referred to Counsel.
The Supervisor reported the receipt of a communication
inviting the Town to attend a conference at Mount Vernon in re-
lation to the water litigation.
Upon motion by Justice Collins, seconded by Justice
Dudley it was
RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be and
he hereby is authorized and empowered
to attend the conference at Mount Ver-
non in relation to the water litigation
together with Counsel and he was fur-
ther empowered to settle the question
if necessary on an equitable basis to
the Town of Mamaroneck.
The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution,
same was declared carried.
The following telegram was received from Congressman
Benjamin L. Fairchild, Counsel of the Village of Pelham in re-
lation to the water litigation.

You and your associates can rely upon the assurance
that Pelham will share equally with Mamaroneck in the expenses
and in the damages if any, in the water company action up to
and including the Court of Appeals.

The telegram was ordered received, read placed on
file and ordered spread upon the minutes.
An estimate was submitted by the R. A. Fife Corporation
in relation to the purchase of sears for the Town Hall. Same was
referred to the Committees on Town Hall.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned
at 11.30 P.M.
