HomeMy WebLinkAbout1920_12_29 Town Board Minutes Meeting of the Town Board Town of Mamaroneck, held Devenber 29th, 1920 The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 10.15 P.M. PRESENT: Supervisor Burton Justices, Boyd, Collins, Dudley and Shafer Deputy Clerk, Sherman Upon motion it was voted to dispense with the readirg of minutes not yet approved. A communication was received by the Supervisor questing the use of the Town Hall for the Boy Scouts. Same was read and ordered filed with the Supervisor. The supervisor stated that he had granted the request for the use of the Town Hall by the Boy Scounts and it was VOTED, that this Town Board confirm the action of the Supervisor in granting the request. A communication from the Police in relation to an increase in salary was received, read, ordered filed with the Supervisor and it was VOTED, that matter be laid over for future action. Supervisor Burton reported in relation to the Bloomer matter and stated that there had been nothing formally presented to him in relation to the incident occuring at Larchmont on December 8th, 1920 and reccomends that his suspension be lifted and that his resignation be accepted. Upon the reccomendation of the Supervisor Justice Shafer offered the following which was seconded by Justice Collins; RESOLVED, that the sus- pension of John W. Bloomer as Peace Officer be lifted and that his res- ignation be accepted, and it is further RESOLVED, that the Clerk be author- ized and directed to notify Mr. Bloomer of the action of this Board. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was declared adopted by the following vote. Ayes; Messrs, Burton, Boyd, Collins, Dudley, Shafer and Sherman. Nayes; None. The Clerk was also directed to notify Mr. Bloomer re- questing that his equipment be turred in. Justine Shafer presented the following resolution and novel its adoption. RESOLVED, that Edward Decker, residing in Larchmont, N.Y. by appointed accord- ing to law as Special Peace Officer in place of John W. Bloomer resigned, same to take effect as of January 2nd, 1921 at compensation to be at the rate of $125 per month payable on the 15th and last day of each month during the term of appointment. And it is further RESOLVED, that the Supervisor be author- ixed and epowered to issue the necessary orders to have become effective. The question being taken upon the foregoing resolution, same was declared adopted by the following vote. Ayes: Messrs, Burton, Boyd, Collins, Dudley, Shafer and Sherman, Nayes: None.
