TOWN OF MAMARONECK
held
August 20th 1920
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at
9.00 P.M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton,
Justices, Boyd, Dudley and Shafer
Deputy Clerk, Sherman.
The first order of business was the reading of the notice
of sale of bonds which upon roll call was approved and is as follows.
$7,360.00
TOWN OF MAMARONECK, N.Y. VOTING MACHINE BONDS.
Notice is hereby given that George W. Burton, Supervisor of
the Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York will receive
sealed bids until 8.30 P.M. August 20th, 1920 at the office of the
Town Clerk, Town of Mamaroneck, his office in Mamaroneck, 6 Elm Street
for the purchase of $7,360.00 par value coupon Town of Mamaroneck, N.Y
voting machine bonds dated August 1st, 1920 interest six (6%) per
cent per annum from September 1st, 1920 payable December 1st, 1920
and semi-annually thereafter (J&D.1) denomination $360. one bond,
and the balance in denominations of $1,000 each principal and interest
payable with New York Exchange at current rate in Mamaroneck. Coupon
bonds subject to conversion into fully registered bonds. Maturing
$360. June 1st, 1921 and $1,000. annually thereafter June 1st, 1922
to June 1st, 1928 inclusive.
Purchaser will be furnished approving opinion of Chester B.
Masslich, Esq. New York. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified
check of $150. upon a responsible bank or trust Company, payable to
the order of George W.Burton, Supervisor. Delivery in New York or
Mamaroneck at purchasers election on three days notice by the Town
Supervisor. Delivery in no event to be later than September 1st , 1920
The right is reserved to reject any or all bias if it is deemed for
the interest of the Town of Mamaroneck to do so.

Upon motion duly seconded, it was
RESOLVED, that the bias received be now opened.
The Clerk proceeded to open and read the bids received as
follows:
Geo. B. Gibbons & Co. $7,360.00
Automatic Registering Machine Corp. $7,380.00
Both bids were accompanied by the required certified check
of $150.00
The following resolution was offered by Justice Dudley and
seconded by Justice Shafer.
RESOLVED, that the Automatic Registering
Machine Corporation of Jamestown, N.Y.
having bid the sum of $7,380.00 with
accrued interest from September 1st,
1920 for $7,360.00 voting machine bonds
of the Town of Mamaroneck, dated August
1st, 1920, pursuant to advertisement
made in accordance with law and the said
bid being the highest and best bid re-
ceived for said bonds the same are hereby
awarded to the said Automatic Registering
Machine Corporation and the Supervisor
is directed to deliver said bonds after
their due execution , and upon payment
therefore being made.
The resolution being put to a vote was adopted by the follow-
ing. AYES: Burton, Boyd, Dudley, Shafer and Sherman.
Noes; None.
Upon motion, duly seconded it was Voted,
that the certified check of the
unsuccessful bidder be returned
forthwith be the Clerk and so
noted in the minutes.
Upon ROLL CALL all members present voted for the adoption
of the resolution.
The Clerk thereupon returned the check to Mr.Lauffer repre-
senting Geo. B. Gibbons & Co.
The Supervisor and Town Clerk, together with Counsel were
auttorized and empowered to conclude negotiations for the sale of
bonds with the Automatic Registering Machine Corporation, whereupon
the following resolution was read.
RESOLVED, that a warrant be drawn to the
order of Automatic Registering Machine
Corp. for $7,360. in payment for eight
voting machines purchased by the Town
of Mamaroneck from said Company, said
warrant is to be payable from the
proceeds of $7,360, voting machine bonds
of the Town of Mamaroneck sold this day
and that said warrant be delivered, after
due execution, to said Company.
The resolution being put to a vote was adopted by the follow-
ing vote. Ayes: Burton, Boyd, Dudley, Shafer and Sherman.
Noes: None.
The Supervisor reported on the requirements for equipment of
coats and boots for the patrolmen and it was
VOTED, that the Supervisor be authorized
and empowered to make the purchase thereof;
all members voting in the affirmative.
Action was taken whereby the Town Board meet together with
the Board of Assessors for the purpose of compiling the Grand and Petit
Jury lists at this office on Tuesday evening September 7th, 1920 at
8.30 P .M. and that the Clerk be instructed to send out notice thereo.
There being no further business the meeting adjouned at 9.40 PM.
