PRESENT: Supervisor Burton Justices , Boyd and Shafer. Deputy Clerk Sherman Ralph A. Gamble, Counsel Upon motion duly seconded, it was Voted , that the reading of minutes of meetings not yet approved be dispensed with. The report of the Supervisor from December 1st to December 27th, 1919 inclusive was received, read, ordered placed on file and is as follows: TOWN OF MAMARONECK Office of the Supervisor. McGivney, Deputy January, 5th,1920 Sir: Pursuant to Section 23 of the Westchester County Tax Law 1 hereby report the amount of State, County, Town, School, Highway, and Special District taxes, together with the interest and penalties thereon, collected by me during the Month of December and January, 1919 and 1920. Receiver of Taxes The report of the Town Clerk for the Month of January 1920 was received, read, ordered filed and is as follows: TOWN OF MAMARONECK Office of the Town Clerk February, 2nd,1920 Hon. Geo W. Burton Supervisor, Town of Mamaroneck Mamaroneck, New York. Dear Sirs: I hereby respectfully report the amount of fees collected in the office of the Town Clerk, for the Month of January, 1920. to wit:- Dog Licenses issued 27 $6.75 Hunting Licenses " 81 8.10 Alien Hunting Licenses " 2 1.00 Marriage Licenses " 6 6.00 Chattel Mortgages filed 30 3.60 Total $ 25.45 Respectfully submitted John C. Fairchild Town Clerk Per Frederick M. Sharman Enclosures: Deputy Check covering amount made to the order of Supervisor. A communication was received and read from Town Clerk, John C. Fairchild, recommending to the Board the appointment of Frederick M. Sherman as Deputy Registrar. Upon motion duly seconded, it was Voted, that the appointment of Frederick M. Sherman as Deputy Registrar, be and the same is here- by approved. A communication from S. McAndless & Son relative to the painting of the Town Clerks Offiee was received , read, and Upon motion, duly seconded, it was upon ROLL CALL unanimously VOTED, that the Supervisor be authorized and empowered to proceed with the painting and papering of the Town Clerks office at an expenditure not to exceed Eighty ( $80 ) Dollars. A communication from Village Clerk Edgar L. Howe offering to purchase the old typewriter desk in the Town Clerks office, was received, read, and Upon motion, duly seconded it was VOTED, that the matter be left in the hands of the Supervisor with power. The Clerk read a communication from the Library Bureau quoting prices for two steel cabinets with folders and guides included same to cost $146.45 and Upon motion, duly seconded, it was upon ROLLCALL, VOTED, that the clerk be authorized purchase two steel cabinets for the use of the Town Clerk, at a price of $146.45 and that the same be made a Town charge. Mr. William I. Palmer appeared before the Board on behalf of the Sewer Commissioners and requested that the Town Board furnish the Commission with a list of accepted streets in the Town of Mamaroneck, westerly of Rockland Avenue to the boundary line of the Village of Larchmont and the City of New Rochelle, excluding Dillon Park, which had been accepted and taken over by the Town as Town Highways. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was VOTED, that the Clerk prepare such a list and forward tha same to Mrs Palmer for the use of the Sewer Commissioners. Mr. John Bloomer appeared before the Board on behalf of the Special Constables, requesting an increase in salary from $100. a month to $125. a month and Upon motion, duly seconded, it was VOTED, that the matter be laid over until the next meeting of the Board. The next order of business was the opening of bids for the contract for the collection and disposal of ashes , garbage, swill, and refuse in Fire District No. I. It was upon motion, duly seconded Voted, that the bids received be now opened. The Clerk proceeded to open and read the bids received which were as follows: Gabriel Sganga $3200.00 Arthur Poschen 3600.00 Both bids were accompanied by the required deposit of One Hundred Dollars. Upon motion, duly seconded, it was VOTED, that the awarding of the contract be laid over until Tuesday evening, February 24th, 1920 and that the Clerk ret- ain the bids and bonds submitted, until that time. Upon motion, the meeting adjourned at 10.00 P.M. Town Clerk Deputy.
