TOWN OF MAMARONECK RECREATION COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
June 18, 2020

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting held via Zoom was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chariman Druker.
SUPERINTENDENT’S UPDATE:
Ms. Fisher reported the following:
1. The playgrounds at Memorial Park and Richbell Road Apartment Complex
have been given the approval to re-open. The parks will be cleaned and
signage will be placed in the parks that will state “Playgrounds are open and
play at your own risk”. Social Distancing will still be required.
2. Program fliers were provided for several programs that will be offered this
summer in lieu of day camps. We will be hosting STEAM programs via Zoom
and in-person Sheldrake. Memorial Park will have some limited sports
programs and adult fitness.
3. We have added an additional hour to the Memorial Park Tennis Courts
weekend schedule. The new weekend schedule is 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
4. The Movies in the Park have been cancelled for the season. Hosting a Drive-
In Movie is being looked into.
5. Construction on the Ice Rink will start up again now that we have moved into
the next Phase. We are hoping the get ice up and running in August as we
move into Phase 4. Slap Shot Café will not be opening with limited access to
the Ice Rink.
2020 SUMMER POOL OPENING GUILDLINES:
New guidelines for opening the pool have been presented to the Town Board, Health
Department and the School District. The new guidelines have been approved.
The pool will open on June 29, 2020 for Residents only.
The fee is set at $5.00 per person. Under age 1 is free.
To limit the exposure in the school building, patrons will enter the pool
across from the ice rink entrance and exit by the men’s locker rooms.
No locker rooms and showers will be provided.
There will be 5 time slots available. The 9:00 – 10:00 am time slot will be
for Seniors and Lap Swim only with a maximum of 16.
The other 4 time slots will be set at 85 residents and 6 - 8 lap lanes will be
available.
10 x 10 squares will be marked on the pool lawn for social distancing.

2020 SUMMER POOL OPENING GUILDLINES CONTINUED:
The training pool will be marked into 6 squares and the mushroom will be
marked in half.
Masks must be worn at all times when not in your square or pool.
After further discussion, a motion was made by Chairman Druker, seconded by
Commissioner Paonessa, to approve the new guidelines for the 2020 summer pool
opening. All in favor.

On a motion by Chairman Druker, seconded by Commissioner Paonessa, the following
program fees were unanimously approved for the 2020 Summer season.
