HomeMy WebLinkAbout1919_02_24 Town Board Minutes Minutes of Meeting of the Town Board of the town of Mamaroneck held February 24th, 1919. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Burton at 9:20 P.M. The Clerk reported the following present: Supervisor Burton, Justices Collins, Boyd, Dudley and shafer, Clerk Fairchild and Ralph A. Gamble, Counsel. WHEREAS, the Town Board has authorized the incorporation of $2750.00 into the Budget for the year 1919 for the collection and removal of swill, ashes and garbage and refuse in Fire District No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck, and WHEREAS, said amount has been approved by the Board of Supervisors, and WHEREAS, public bids were advertised for and re- ceived for the contract for the collection and removal of swill, askes, garbage and refuse from buildings in Fire Dis- trict No. 1 of the Town of Mamaroneck for the period of one year; and WHEREAS, Aurthur Poeschen was the lowest bidder for the price of $2750.00 for the term of one year, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the contract for the removal and dis- posal of swill, ashes, garbage and refuse from buildings in Fire District No.1 of the Town of Mamaroneck for the term of one year beginning February 26th, 1919 and ending Febru- ary 25th, 1920 inclusive, be and the same hereby is awarded to said Arthur Poeschen at a price of $2750.00; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that: when the said Arthur Poeschen has qualified as to his ability to carry out, to the satisfaction of the Supervisor, Town Clerk and Counsel, the terms of said contract heretofore recited, and after the sufficiency and form of the Bond to be given for the faith- ful performance of the said contract, has been finally ap- proved by Counsel, then upon compliance with the conditions aforesaid contained in this resolution, the Supervisor and the Town Clerk be and they hereby are authorized to execute in behalf of the Towm of Mamaroneck the said proposed Swill, Ashes, Garbage and Refuse Contract with Arthur Poeschen for the term of one year submitted to this meeting, and to take all necessary steps in connection therewith. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to return to all other bidders their bids with the other enclosed therewith. Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 10:20 P.M.
