HELD ON MONDAY, MAY 4, 1987, AT 8:00 P.M. IN THE SENIOR CENTER OF THE TOWN
CENTER, 740 W. BOSTON POST RD. , MAMARONECK, NEW YORK.
PRESENT: Martin Zavell, Chairman
Richard Mari
ALSO PRESENT: Steven Altieri, Town Administrator
Thomas Amlicke, Town Board Liaison
Charles Baumblatt, Police Chief
Due to the lack of a quorum the meeting could not be called to order. A discussion
began at 8:30 p.m.
Overnight Parking - Chatsworth , Murray and Myrtle
Mr. Zavell stated that parking in the lot at 16 N. Chatsworth has been extended
until June 30, 1987. Chief Baumblatt stated that the Police Department has no '
objection to overnight parking as requested in this area.
Mr. Zavell explained that the traffic committee must get input from the Fire
Chief before a recommendation is made to the Town Board.
Left turn - Weaver and Palmer
Chief Baumblatt stated that the State DOT passed a work order in July 1985 for
this lane designation. In discussion with the State DOT, they have told Chief
Baumblatt that the lane designation will be for straight and left turn at this
intersection. Chief Baumblatt will speak with the representative from the State
DOT once again when the representative returns from vacation.
Plymouth road
The Fire Chief has reported that he will need to actually bring the hook and
ladder onto the street to make sure the street is accessible before making a
recommendation to this committee. The hook and ladder is not back from being
serviced at this time.
Brookside drive - East and West
On a request from Mr. Klien of Valley Stream Road, the traffic committee will
look into designating East and West Brookside Drive one ways. Chief Baumblatt
reported that due to the fact that there has not been any accidents reported
on that street, the Police Department recommends that the area remain as is.
It was agreed that a traffic co:unittee meeting will be called for Monday, May 11
at 8:00 p.m. in the senior center with the hopes of a quorum being met.
