APPROVAL OF MINUTES
On a motion from Mr. Lobl, seconded by Mr. Mari and carried unanimously, the
minutes of the meeting of May 19, 1992 were approved with the following amendments:
Under the heading VISUAL OBSTRUCTION, in the last paragraph the words "If this
does not pro•Je acceptable" should be inserted before the words-the committee.
At the end of the minutes the following words should be added: Respectfully
submitted by Cynthia Rocchio.
VISUAL OBSTRUCTION-FALLS ROAD AND COOPER LANE
Joan Druker of 4 Falls Road stated that new shrubs have been put in to replace
an old hedge of the same height. She felt that the terrain may make visibility
difficult not the shrubs. She feels the real issue is that a resident who
complained is concerned that their view of the duck pond may be blocked.
Sonia Gargaliano of 72 Cooper Lane stated that she travels Falls Rd. to access
her driveway and has never felt the shrubs cause a visual obstruction.
Sandy Tashoff of 40 Cooper Lane stated that the hill on Falls Rd. is steep and
that causes any obstruction. She further stated that the next corner is much
more of a visual obstruction.
Pat DiCioccio, Town Clerk stated that the Building Inspector felt the shrubs
along the front of the property were the only possible obstruction, not those in
question on the side.
After discussion, it was agreed that the prior plantings did not present a
different configuration than is there now and no town residents expressed the
view that they were a visual obstruction. The following motion was made by
Mn. Lobl, seconded by Mrs. Black and carried unanimously: The Traffic Committee
determines that there is no visual obstruction caused by shrubbery at this
intersection and trimming the existing plantings from four feet to three feet
will not improve visibility.
CCRNER OF FOREST AND MURRAY AVE.-FIRE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Mr. Altieri stated that the Fire Chief's report has not been received yet. The
committee would like a copy of it when it is received.

CORNER OF FOREST AND MURRAY AVE.-FIRE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION (cont. )
Lt. Anderson stated that he feels parking should be prohibited on both sides of
Forest Ave. from Weaver St. to Murray Ave.
There was discussion regarding making the island more narrow. Mr. Mari stated
he would like input from the school before taking any action.
Mrs. O'Flinn stated that we might need to find alternate parking for the school.
The Committee agreed that this should be put on the agenda for the next meeting
after the memo is received from the fire department.
ROCKLAND AVENUE PARKING - BADGER DAY CAMP
The signs stating NO PARKING, STANDING OR STOPPING for this area have been
received. There has been a request to make this a seasonal ordinance.
Diane Tohn of 129 Rockland Ave. is concerned that cars will line up on side streets
if they are prohibited from parking on Rockland Ave.
Mary Lou Biacco of 25 Rockland Ave. stated that the only time there is a problem
is at pick up time from day camp. Some cars used to park on Rockland Ave.
John Collins of 105 Rockland Ave. feels that the ordinance should be year round,
not seasonal.
Mrs. O'Flinn stated that Mr. Collins of Badger Sports Club has been very gracious
in regard to helping solve this problem by hiring a guard to direct traffic.
It was agreed that this subject will be postponed until the September meeting
since the Town Board asked that this be looked at after the summer camp season.
Mr. Altieri will see to it that Committee members receive prior minutes which
deal with this location.
TRAFFIC PA'ri'i.RNS-JEFFERSON STREET & NORTH CHATSWORTH AVE.
A letter was received from Dr. Grisanti, president of the co-op at 16 N. Chatsworth
regarding improving visibility at intersections.
Lt. Anderson reported that in order to improve visibility there would be a loss
of parking spaces.
Mr. Altieri reported that parking in this area was difficult since the residents
were looking for 24 hour parking while the commercial business were looking for
1 and 2 hour parking.
After discussion, Mr. Lobl made the following motion which was seconded by
Mr. Mari and carried unanimously: The Police Dept. and/or Highway Department
review the intersection of Jefferson St. , New Jefferson St. and N. Chatsworth Ave.
and determine if parking should be restricted to create greater visibility
for cars entering Jefferson St. and New Jefferson St.

seconded by Mr. Mari and carried unanimously.

Road and Boston Post Road.
The committee had a lengthy discussion regarding the traffic impact on the
intersection and the area in general. The Committee explored the traffic
implications in general. The eleven parking spaces on the school property
were discussed. Both Mrs. Magazino and Mrs. Odierna voiced negative opinions
regarding the parking spaces on school property. Mr. Black stated concern
regarding the open pathway to the spaces on the school property. Mrs. Magazino

Hommocks Road.
