COMMITTEE HELD TUESDAY, JUNE 21, 1994 IN THE SENIOR CENTER OF THE TOWN
CENTER, 740 W. BOSTON ROAD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK.

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. The members of the committee were introduced.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the May 10, 1994 meeting were approved unanimously with the following
changes:
pg 2 MYRTLE BLVD - The motion was seconded by Ms. Odierna. Ms. Black, Ms. Odierna,
Mr. Mari voted aye and Mr. Leitner voted nay.
PARKING I/F/O DOC'S - The Administrator's office will notify the area businesses of
the suggested change...
OLD BUSINESS:
TRAFFIC CONTROL -BOSTON POST ROAD/DII,I,ON/ROAD (new CVS/STAPLES)
The Committee again discussed the various options presented by the consultant, Ethan C. Eldon
Associates, Inc. Mr. Mari cautioned the Committee as to the possible finality of the proposal. He
asked if the proposal first selected(option VII), does not create the necessary result, would the
Town be required to pay for the additional required work if needed? The committee would first
like to try option Vll but does not want the Town to be responsible for any additional required
work. A motion to adopt the proposal, (option VII) by Ethan C. Eldon Associates, Inc.,if the
Town has recourse to adopt other options if needed, was made by Mr. Leitner, seconded by
Ms. Angiulo and carried unanimously by the committee.
VISIBILITY-COOPER LANE INTERSECTION AT MARDON ROAD
The Committee discussed the request to extend the proposed parking restriction on Cooper Lane.
Ms. Carroll of 68 Cooper I,ane brought to light the problem of parking on both sides of Cooper
Lane from Mardon Road to Falls Road. The Committee would like input from the Highway
Department as to how the parking can be regulated on the entire length of Cooper Lane with

special attention given to emergency vehicle access, roadway width for vehicles passing each
other and parked cars, also, egress and ingress to driveways. The Committee also wishes to
notify the Mardon Road and adjacent street residents.
VISIBILITY -MYRTLE BLVD. APPROACHING WEAVER STREET
After discussion, the Committee felt no further action need be taken with regard with right turns
on red light, at this time.
PARKING CONDITIONS I/F/O DOCS 1380 BOSTON POST ROAD
The Committee discussed the issue of parking and safety in this area and felt that no action is
required at this time.
STATUS -PENDING SIGN INSTALLATIONS
The following signs were requested by the Committee at prior meetings and have not been
installed: Handicapped Parking I/F/O Carl's Restaurant, Slow/Curve Huguenot Drive/Rochelle
Road, and Slow -Wagon Wheel Road.
NEW BUSINESS:
STOP SIGN REQUEST -BRIARCLIFF ROAD AND CRESCENT ROAD
Ms. Debbie Peterson of 65 Briarcliff Road appeared before the Committee to request a stop sign
to be installed at this location. The need for a stop sign at this location was discussed and the
Committee felt that there are no compelling circumstances that warrant a sign at this location.
Ms. Peterson was advised that the issue would be reevaluated if additional information was
presented to the Committee.
DEFINITION OF MAJORI TINS AND QUORUMS
The question of how many people make up a quorum and how many votes are requited to pass a
motion was discussed. The Committee would like an opinion from the Town Attorney as to the
rules of voting
ADJOURNMENT
On a motion by Ms. Black , seconded by Mr. I,obl and carried unanimously, the meeting was
adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
