PARKING REQUEST - 2425 BOSTON POST ROAD
A letter was received from Michael and Anna DeFeo requesting
overnight parking on the Boston Post Rd. or on a side street
near 2425 Boston Post Rd.
Mr. Mari explained the overnight parking ordinance history in
the Town of Mamaroneck. He further explained that the Boston
Post Rd. is a State road. He suggested Mr. DeFeo look into
renting space from a gas station or restaurant in the immediate
area. Mr. DeFeo explained that space rentals are high and his
rent prices would be too low to cover the cost.
Mr. DeFeo asked about Van Guilder Street. Could it be used to
park overnight. Lt. Anderson stated that it is a paper street.
Mr. Mari stated that it was something that could be looked at .
Mr. Lobl pointed out that it would mean people would have to
cross the Boston Post Rd. Mr. Mari will report back to the
committee at the next meeting regarding his findings about Van
Guilder Street.
Mr. DeFeo will look into other private areas regarding overnight
parking rentals. He questioned if there was a sign posted at
the border of New Rochelle in the Town of Mamaroneck stating
that there is no overnight parking in the Town. Lt. Anderson
will check into this .

lot overnight which explained that the rental would be a charitable
contribution and therefore, tax deductible.
OLD BUSINESS - REPORT ON HILLCREST AVE.
Mr. Altieri reported that the line which has been approved, has
been painted on Hillcrest Ave. The approved signs have either
been installed or, in some cases, the sign has been ordered since
the Town does not own the stencil .
NEW BUSINESS
On recommendation of the Police Department, the following changes
for parking were discussed:
1 . Create a 3 hour parking area on the West side of N. Chatsworth
Ave. from New Jefferson St. to the entrance of 35 N. Chatsworth
Ave. (Carlton House Apts) . It was agreed to make this change if
street cleaning were taken into consideration. The following
motion was made by Mr. Mari , seconded by Mr. Leitner and carried
unanimously: Establish street cleaning on a day consistent with

St. to the entrance of 35 N. Chatsworth.

from Myrtle Blvd to the end of the street where it becomes
municipal parking lot #1 . Mr. Mari suggested the residents on
Wood Street be notified of a possible change as a courtesy.
Mr. Lobl suggested the officer in the area take an unofficial
pole of residents . This will be put on the next agenda so the
officer may pole the residents.
Study by ITE - Mr. Lobl stated that the Institute of Traffic
Engineering has a published report available regarding Stop
Signs and their warrants. It was agreed that copies will be
distributed with the next meeting packet.
