accident history provided by the police department and the distance visible for making turns.Due
to the small nambes of reported accidents at this location, and the good visibility available, the
Committee felt no action was required at this time.
MYRTLE BOULEVARD APPROACHING WEAVER STREET-VI II3
Mr. Bernard Sobie of 3 Washington Square addressed the Committee with his concerns about
making a right turn on red from eastbound Myrtle Blvd onto southbound Weaver Street. He said
that cars cannot see for an adequate distance to safely make the turn from eastbound Myrtle Blvd.
onto southbound Weaves Street He also said that the traffic was moving too fast on southbound
Weaver Street. The Committee discussed their observations of the intersection and Mr. Sobie's
concerns.A motion to recommend to the TOWN BOARD to prohibit right turns on red at all
times was made by Ms. Black. The motion was seconded by Ms. Odicrna,Mr. Mari voted aye
and Mr.Leitner voted nay.The Committee agreed to discuss this at the next meeting.
PARKING CONDITION bF/O DOC'S- I380 BOSTON POST ROAD
The Committee discussed a police department memo raising concerns about the parked cars on the
street at this location. Due to the crest and bend of the road at this location, southbound traffic has
difficulty seeing around the parked cars. The recommendation from U.Nardelli is to prohibit
parking at this location. The police memo also notes that to eliminate this parking would make the
parking restrictions on the Boston Post Road consistent from the Town border near Ricbbell Road
to Alden Road. The Administrator's office will notice the area buses of the suggested change
and the Committee will discuss this item at the next meeting.
COOPER LANE INTERSECTION AT MARDON ROAD-VLSIBILFTY
