COMMITTE HELD TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 1994 IN THE COURT ROOM OF THE
TOWN CENTER, 740 W. BOSTON POST RAOD, MAMARONECK, NEW YORK.

Valerie Moore O'Keeffe, Liaison from Town Board

The chairman called the meeting to order at 8 : 00 p.m. He introduced
the Committee members and explained the purpose of the committee.
He also introduced Valerie O'Keeffe who is the new liaison for the
Town Board.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
On a motion from Mr. Lobl, seconded by Mr. Pincus Leitner the
minutes of November 23 , 1993 were approved with the following
corrections: under members present a members name was misspelled it
was spelled Vossa instead of Frank Vozza. One page 2 , under New
Business paragraph 2 the word "pole" should be spelled "poll" .
OLD BUSINESS
NO OVERNIGHT PARKING SIGN - TOWN BORDER
Lt. Anderson checked into the situation regarding the question
about overnight parking signs on the Town border. His results were
that both signs are missing and have to be replaced. Mr. Lobl made
the motion to approve the new signs and the Board seconded the
motion.
Parking restriction on wood street.
It was decided to have a sign that reads "2HR PARKING 7 : 00 AM to
2 : 00 PM" on Wood Street. Richard Mari made the suggestion that it
should be Monday thru Friday. Board agreed with the suggestion. Mr.
Lobl made the motion and the board seconded the motion and it was
carried.
NEW BUSINESS
4 Baldwin Avenue - Request for Street Parking
Mr. Anthony Ilardi, of 4 Baldwin Avenue has requested a solution to
his parking problem. His propertty has no curb cut of driveway and
overnight parking is not allowed on that street. Recently he has
been receiving tickets in front of his house. For the record Mr.
Ilardi issued two pictures of his home of Baldwin Ave in addition
a letter dated February 1.
Mr. Lobl indicated that the committee can not make exception for
just one resident. He suggested that he go to the Town Clerk's
Office and put his name on a list for a parking permit. Mr.
Ildardi indicated that he is on a list already.
Request - Hidden Driveway Sign
Mrs. Anne Goulb, of 843 Fenimore was requesting that a "Hidden
Driveway Sign" be put up. She indicated that it is extremely
difficult to see her driveway when traveling East to West going
toward Griffin Ave. Lt. Anderson commented on this sitaution and
also agreed with Mrs. Goulb. He stated that 833 Fenimore Rd starts
the Nature Trail . Mr. Lobl made a motion to have the Highway
Department put up a sign that reads "Hidden Driveway" . The board
seconded the motion and it was carried.
Dangerous Traffic Condition - Huguenot Drive
Neil Novikoff of 12 Huguenot Drive and Rick Estock of 16 Huguenot
Drive indicated that they live on a dangerous, twisted hill . The
speed limit is 30 miles per hour which is very fast for this area.
Residents are concerned that the speed limit is too high for the
resident's children that play outside. The residents are
requesting to lower the SPEED LIMIT and requested that signs be
placed saying "CHILDREN AT PLAY" . Frank Vozza motioned the board
to have SPEED ADVISORY SIGNS, 20 M. P.H. Mr. Lobl seconded the
motion and it was carried.
Traffic Light - Weaver Street/Quaker Ridge Road
Mr. Gerardi, of 805 Weaver Street, spoke about the traffic light on
Weaver Street and Quaker Ridge Road. Four or Five times a day
traffic is backed up on Weaver Street. Residents that live on
Weaver Street cannot get their cars out of their driveways. The
residents are requesting an advance Green arrow.
The Committee, Lt. Anderson, and Stephen Aliteri indicated that the
Traffic Light belongs to the City of New Rochelle. Stephen Aliteri
suggested that we write to the City Manager's Office of New
Rochelle as to whether or not an advance green light could be
placed in the north direction. Councilwoman O'Keeffe will write to
the City Manager's Office of New Rochelle. Councilwoman O'Keeffe
will report on this next meeting.
Mr. William Byrne, of 19 Villa Road Larchmont, requested Improving
Safety on Weaver Street at the St. John & Paul School, this will be
placed on next agenda.
