A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on September
21, 2004, in the Senior Center at Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston Post
Road, Mamaroneck, New York, 10543.

Others Present:
Judith Myers - Councilwoman
Stephen Altieri - Town Administrator
Lt. Michael Cindrich - Town of Mamaroneck Police Dept.
Old Business:
1. Approval of Minutes for April 27, 2004. Approved as amended.
2. Traffic on Huguenot Drive and Rochelle Road. Greg Jarrett-Resident submitted a map
of stop signs proposed by residents.
Janet Segal - 19 Huguenot Drive. Appeared before the Committee regarding traffic on
Huguenot Drive.
Victoria Poe - 17 Huguenot Drive. Appeared before the Committee regarding traffic on
Huguenot.
The Committee reviewed the proposal submitted by the residents of the neighborhood.
Action of the Committee: On motion by David Lobl and second by Richard Mari, the
Traffic Committee voted to install stop signs at the following locations:
On Huguenot Drive at Rochelle Road approaching from North Chatsworth
On Huguenot Drive at Rochelle Road approaching from Mountain Avenue
On Rochelle Road at Huguenot Drive.
This matter will be placed on the October 6, 1004 agenda of the Town Board to set
hearing.
3. Pedestrian Traffic at Weaver Street between Palmer Avenue and Boston Post Road.
Laura Schneider of 80 Weaver Street appeared before the Committee to speak on this
matter. Mrs. Schneider submitted a written list of concerns.
The Traffic Committee will observe the area. This matter will be placed on the next Traffic
Committee meeting agenda.
New Business
1. Correspondence - Donald Steffen -Avon Road Traffic. Repaint"Slow"on the road. A
resident appeared and suggested the installation of a stop sign on Avon Road at Dundee
traveling towards Fennimore Road. Place on October Traffic Committee Agenda.
The Traffic Committee also reviewed Mr. Steffen's request regarding replacement of "No
Parking" signs on Avon Road. Check to see if a no parking ordinance existed if there was an
ordinance.
Replace signs.
2. Highway Department Referral. Request for "Stop Sign Ahead" sign on North
Chatsworth near Bryson Street. Replace "Limited Sight Distance" sign.
3. Request of Marsha Korotkin - 7 York Road. Parking on York Road near Durham. Traffic
Committee decided no further action; not a high traffic area.
Parking on Winged Foot Drive between Leatherstocking and Purdee Road. Place on next
Traffic Committee Agenda.
4. Request for Traffic Signal - Old White Plains Road/Griffen Avenue. The traffic issues
occur primarily during rush hour time. There does not appear to be sufficient warrant for a
traffic signal.
S. Requests for Sidewalks - East Side of North Chatsworth Avenue. Stephen
Anderson appeared before the Committee to present his concerns and request for a
sidewalk on the east side of North Chatsworth at Bryson Street.
Other Items
1. Old Hommocks Road at Boston Post Road. The Traffic Committee recommended
providing for a right turn only at the intersection. As per Police Department
recommendation.
