TOWN OF MAMARONECK-TRAFFIC COMMITTEE MEETING

OLD BUSINESS:
1 . Approval of the Traffic Committee Minutes of June 19t' 2007.
NEW BUSINESS:
1 . Memorandum dated July 2, 2007, from Supervisor Valerie
Moore O'Keeffe to Administrator Stephen V. Altieri re:
Handicapped Parking Spaces at 14 North Chatsworth Avenue.
Several residents have requested an additional handicapped space
at the above location & also to have the existing spaces repainted.
2. Correspondence dated July 9, 2007, from Cornelius Shields,
Jr. re: Request for stop signs at these three locations: a) Sts.
John & Paul lower school parking lot, b) the corner of Mardon Road
& Cooper Lane, & c) the corner of Forest Avenue & Rockland
Avenue. Mr. Shields states that traffic is heavy there & drivers are
a danger to pedestrians.
3. Correspondence dated July 20, 2007, from Theodore L.
Marks re: The new traffic light pattern at the intersection of Myrtle
Boulevard & North Chatsworth Avenue. Mr. Marks states that this
change has caused additional traffic jams for drivers going to the
Railroad Station or to the Village of Larchmont. Requests that the
traffic lights be changed back to the former configuration.
4. Correspondence dated August 7 & 14, 2007, to & from
Paula G. A. Ryan to Supervisor Valerie Moore O'Keeffe re:
Daytime Parking Restrictions on Edgewood Avenue. Ms. Ryan
states that circumstances necessitate parking in front of her house.
Requests parking decals for residents. Supervisor O'Keefe
responded that the Town of Mamaroneck has petitioned New York
State Legislature to allow the Washington Square Neighborhood
designated "residents only" parking. The Traffic Committee will
review Ms. Ryan's request.
5. Documents relating to a discussion of: Policy & General
Provisions related to Overnight Parking Exemption.
6. Notice re: Adoption of local law entitled "Restrictions on
parking on Daymon Terrace and Colonial Avenue.

A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on June 19, 2007, in the
Courtroom at The Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY.
Members Present:
David Lobl—Chairman, Nancy Angiulo, Camille Odierna, Donald Sutherland, Doris Shaw, Kathy DeVore
Members Absent Others Present:
Mike Harrington, Michael Cindrich Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator
Old Business:
Approval of Minutes —June 19. 2007.
New Business:
1. Request for additional parking spaces at 14 North Chatsworth Avenue. The Traffic Committee
reviewed the request of Esther Alpert of 14 North Chatsworth Avenue. Decision to add one
handicapped spot in the vicinity of the Fire Chief's parking space.
2. Request of Cornelius Shields — Stop Signs on Mardon Road & Cooper Lane. The Traffic
Committee reviewed this matter and voted to recommend the placement of a stop sign on Mardon
Road at Cooper Lane. Forest Avenue and Rockland Avenue— The Traffic Committee reviewed
the request and voted to recommend the placement of a stop sign on Forest Avenue at the
intersection of Rockland Avenue.
3. Correspondence—Theodore Marks re: Intersection of Myrtle Boulevard &North Chatsworth
Avenue. Mr. Marks appeared before the Traffic Committee to discuss the concerns raised in his
letter regarding the intersection. The Town Administrator explained that the Town will be again
looking at the timing of the intersection traffic signals.
4. Correspondence — Paula Ryan re: Parking on Edgewood Avenue. Mr. Ned Ryan appeared
before the Traffic Committee to discuss the currant restriction that prohibits parking between 2:00
and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. The matter was deferred to the October Traffic Committee
Meeting to allow Paula Ryan to appear before the Committee.
5. Overnight Parking Exemption Policy. Deferred to the October Traffic Committee Meeting. Have
the Police Department at the meeting.
6. No Parking—East Side of Daymon Terrace—Senate Place to Colonial Avenue. Mrs.Abrams of
Daymon Terrace appeared before the Traffic Committee to ask that the law be amended to prohibit
parking Monday through Friday only.
The EC recommended that the new law be amended to "No Parking Anytime Monday through Friday".
(Voted 5-1). Non-Agenda Item. Michelle Mirigliano — 51 Myrtle Boulevard appeared with several other
residents to discuss speeding on Myrtle Boulevard. [Institute selective enforcement on the street. Contact
the Police Department to conduct speed monitoring]. Residents were requesting assistance to address
speed on the street.
