A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on October 26,
2004, in the Senior Center at Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston Post
Road, Mamaroneck, NY.
Members Present:
David Lobl
Nancy Angiulo
Richard Mari
Ron Meister
Camille Odierna
Members Absent:
Don Derrico
Roz Weinstein
Others Present:
Judith Myers - Councilwoman
Stephen Altieri - Town Administrator
Lt. Michael Cindrich - Town of Mamaroneck Police Dept.
Old Business:
1. Approval of Minutes for September 21, 2004.
New Business:
1. Maple Hill Drive—Speeding. Residents appeared before the Committee requesting a
reduction of the speed limit from 30 mph to 20 mph. Chairman David Lobl advised the
residents that under state law, the Town can only reduce the speed limit to 25 mph. except
in school zones.
Look into the idea of pursuing a stop sign at Maple Hill Drive and Orsini Drive or Maple Hill
Drive and Emerson Road. The Traffic Committee will review their idea for its next meeting in
November. Maple Hill Drive Residents to be notified of the meeting. Place on next agenda
under "Consideration of Stop Sign" on Maple Hill Drive.
2. "Safe Routes to School" Workshop brochure was provided to Committee for their
information. No action is required.
3. Jefferson Street/North Chatsworth Intersection. Safety of cars exiting Jefferson Street
onto North Chatsworth Avenue. Place on next agenda and have the Police Department
check the accident history of the location. Obtain a copy of Valerie Moore O'Keeffe's letter to
Ms. Joan Marzo so that she may be notified.
Sheffer letter- Interstate Ordinance.
Holly Place & Sheldrake Avenue bushes re overgrown over the stop sign on Holly Place.
Next Traffic Committee Meeting will be held on November 30th, 2004.
