MINUTES OF TOWN OF MAMARONECK TRAFFIC COMMITTEE
Date: October 17, 2006
Time: 8 : 00 P.M.
Place: Courtroom, Second Floor, Mamaroneck Town Center
Present: Traffic Committee members:
David Lobl, Chair
Camille Odierna
Donald Sutherland
Ron Meister
Excused: Nancy Angiulo, Kathy Devore, Doris Shaw
Town representatives:
Lt. Cindrich, Police Department
Paul Winick, Liaison, Town Board
The Chair called the meeting to order at 8 : 10 P.M. and
polled the one (1) person in attendance to determine the matter
on the agenda that concerned them. The Committee decided to
consider the following the matters on the agenda out-of-order as
a courtesy to the resident in attendance.
1. New Business, item it 4 - Orsini/Homer Avenues.
David O'Connell of 5 Homer appeared on behalf of Jessica
Ettinger, the resident whose letter to the Town raised this
issue. The issue is the confusion as to right-of-way for
vehicles going north on Orsini towards Homer and then West onto
Homer towards Murray, as well as the vehicles coming off Murray
onto Homer, and then either straight on Homer towards the dead-
end or right onto Orsini.
After discussion, and on motion duly seconded, the Traffic
Committee approved the following action:
That the Town install a stop sign at the intersection of
Homer and Orsini, facing northbound traffic on Orsini, and
further that the TMHD paint a stop line on the road
surface at the appropriate location. In addition, the
double yellow line that now exists at this intersection is
to be removed at the stop sign recommended by this motion.
The TMHD shall also paint an appropriate center line
stripe to demarcate the two lanes of traffic on Homer
Avenue, particularly between Homer and Murray.

2 . New Business, item #2 - E. Brookside/E. Garden
visibility issues and Cooper Lane parking signage.
After consideration and discussion of the issues raised in
Ruth Campanelli' s letter dated August 30, 2006, the Traffic
Committee requests more information from the Town as follows :
(a) a report on the signage that is supposed to be in effect on
the north side of Cooper Lane for its full length; and (b) a
drawing showing the foliage that is in the Town' s right-of-way
at the intersection of East Brookside and East Garden as
described in the letter.
3. New Business, item # 3 - Woods Way at Harrison Drive.
After discussion and review of Mr. Davis' s letter dated
August 28, 2006, the Committee was unable to determine the
precise location of the Town' s border with the Village of
Larchmont since the border appears to bisect this intersection,
particularly in light of Christine Randolph' s letter dated
9/25/06 to Mr. Davis advising that the intersection is in the
Town.
The Committee requests that an enlarged, official copy of
the Town' s zoning map be available for inspection at the next
meeting so the Committee can review this issue.
4 . New Business, item # 1 - 2500 Boston Post Road.
After discussion and review of Ms. Silverman' s e-mail dated
June 12, 2006, the Committee, on motion duly seconded, the
Committee approved the following action:
That the Town prohibits parking between the two
driveways at 2500 Boston Post Road and that the
TMHD install appropriate signage at the location
if passed.
5. New Business, item # 5 - Edgewood and Preston.
This matter is deferred to the next meeting; Mr. Brissette
called David Lobl before the meeting and requested the
adjournment since he could not change his schedule and appear at
the meeting; he did not expect the matter to be placed on the
agenda so soon since his letter was sent on October 11th.
Next meeting set for Tuesday, December 5, 2006.
Meeting adjourned at 9: 30PM.
