TOWN OF MAMARONECK TRAFFIC COMMITTEE
A TRAFFIC COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

A meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on November 30, 2004, in the
Courtroom at the Mamaroneck Town Center at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY.
Members Present:

Old Business:
1. Approval of Minutes of October 26, 2004.

2. Consideration of a stop sign on Maple Hill Drive. Bob Morello-Resident of Maple Hill Drive
appeared to express concern over speed of Traffic on Maple Hill Drive.
Lt. Cindrich provided speed survey information taken on October 27, 2004 in the morning
and afternoon. Based on the survey data, the average speed observed was 29.3 mph.
- After further discussion by the Committee,the decision was to take no further action on this
matter at this time.
3. Jefferson Street &North Chatsworth Avenue Intersection.
No action was taken.
New Business:
1. Overnight Parking Exemption in the Town of Mamaroneck.
Deferred to January 11, 2005 meeting.
2. Proposed Sidewalk on Colonial Avenue - Development of Traffic Alternatives to Improve
safety. The Traffic Committee would prefer to work with the Murray Avenue PTA in this
matter.
Judy Myers will speak with Sue Keltig at the PTA in reference to this item.
The matter was deferred to gather more information and will be placed on the January 11,
2004 agenda. Notices will be sent to Colonial Avenue residents.
3. Vehicle Idling Law. The Traffic Committee is in favor of the law. Exemption to Town vehicles
should be only when they are on business.
4. Poplar Road Speed Bump Request.
No action was taken.
The next Traffic Meeting is scheduled for January 11, 2005.
