Referral from Town Board. - Original Request of Richard Gere—40 North Chatsworth. This item was originally on the last Traffic Committee meeting. The question is the creation of a new parking zone on either side of the driveway to improve visibility for vehicles exiting the driveway. Originally, the Traffic Committee recommended a parking prohibition in an area 6 feet on either side of the driveway. The Town Board, after review of this matter feels that the no parking zone recommended by the Committee is too large. They have requested that the Committee reconsider this item. The Traffic Committee requested that a variety of distances be staked out at the site. Distances of 3, 4, 5 and 6 feet will be staked out by Committee member Donald Derrico. This matter will be placed on the next agenda. New Business: 1. Correspondence from Lisa and Randy Siegel re: Speeding at Intersection of Split Tree Road and Salem Road. - Mr. Siegel appeared before the Committee to present his concern in this matter. The Committee unanimously decided to recommend the installation of a stop sign on Salem Road at the intersection with Split Tree Road. C:\My Documents\Traffic\Minutes 3-19-02.doc 2. Correspondence from Tim and Pauline Greeman re: Overnight Parking at Chester Place. The Traffic Committee was advised that the Police Department has been focusing more on enforcement in the area. The Committee did not believe additional signage is necessary at this time. Check the stop sign on Maxwell Avenue at Madison Avenue. Can we adjust it to make it more visible. The next scheduled Traffic Committee meeting will be held on April 23, 2002. C:\My Documents\Traffic\Minutes 3-19-02.doc
