Meeting Minutes

A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on June 28,2005, in the
Courtroom at Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY, 10543.

Approval of Minutes—June 28, 2005.
New Business
1. Parking on Winged Foot Drive near Dundee Road.
• David Lobl introduced the issue for consideration by the Traffic Committee.
• Ron Meister indicated that he knew about some portions of the west road of Winged Foot Drive.
• Lt. Michael Cindrick provided accident history for the area. He indicated that there were 7 accidents on this
portion of Winged Foot Drive since 1990. Lt.Cindrich also stated that the police department recommendation is to
prohibit parking in front of 3,5,& 7 Winged Foot Drive. Also,the Police Department recommendation included the
installation of a curve warning sign on Winged Foot Drive in the southbound direction. Mention was made that
shrubbery located on the west side of the street be trimmed back.
2. Al Dungan of 5 winged Foot Drive.
Residents would not like to have parking in front of their home. Mr.Dugan believes that the problem was exacerbated
by construction in two of the homes which is now complete. Lee Zimmerman of 3 Winged Foot Drive believes that
speed is the issue to be resolved. Also, he does not want to have parking privileges in front of their home.
Recommendations of the Traffic Committee:
• Trimming of hedges on west side of the street.
• Installation of curve signs with reduced speed limit sign.
• No recommendation to prohibit parking on Winged Foot Drive.
3.Parking—Colonial Avenue. Review of Abby Katz letter.
Traffic Committee Recommendation:
• Amend the original recommendation to shorten the no parking zone to the north side of Colonial between Daymon
Terrace and 87 Colonial Avenue Monday—Friday 8:00 a.m.—9:00 a.m.and September 1st—June 30t 2:00 p.m.—
3:30 p.m.
4.Wagon Wheel and Old White Plains Road. Letter of Hugh Shelvin and Barbara Tell.
• Concern of the number of cares that come around the curve in the road and go onto the property at Wagon Wheel
Road and Old White Plains Road.
• Residents also appeared before the Committee to present their concern.
• Memorandum to Marco Gennarelli to install guard rail at the location.
• Notify the resident first.
