A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on
June 25, 2002, in the Senior Center at The Mamaroneck Town Center located
at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, New York, 10543.
Members Present:
David Lobl
Camille Odierna
Richard Mari
Nancy Angiulo
Donald Derrico
Others Present:
Stephen V. Altieri -Town Administrator
Judith A. Myers -Town Board
Old Business:
Approval of Minutes— May 21, 2002.
1. Avon Road Traffic.
- Mr. & Mrs. Stephanz of 15 Avon Road appeared before the Committee and expressed concern.
Reviewed with the Committee then made submission to the committee. After discussion of the
matter by the Committee, the recommendation is to do the following:
1) Place Avon Road on periodic speed enforcement.
2) Install "limited site distance" sign at a location near 15 to 19 Avon Road, based upon the
determination of the Highway and Police Dept., in both.
3) Paint the word"slow"on the street.
New Business:
1. Letter of Donald Steffen—35 Avon Road.
Installation of "No Parking Signs" near Leatherstocking Trail.
Reinstall signs that were removed when telephone poles were replaced.
2. Letter of Jessica Mollin - 9 Bonnie Way.
Speeding cars — installation of"Children at Play"signs.
Committee reviewed the letter and reiterated their policy of not installing speed bumps and
"Children at Play"signs.
- Town Administrator to write letter to Jessica Mollin.
3. Letter from Paul Collins— 109 Rockland Avenue.
Installation of stop signs on Rockland Avenue at Winged Foot Drive. After review by the
Committee, the Traffic Committee did not feel that there was a justification for stop signs at this
location.
- Town Administrator to write letter to Mr. Collins.
4. Approval of Minutes— May 21, 2002.
On motion by Richard Mari, second by Nancy Angiulo minutes for May 21, 2002, were
unanimously approved.
