Signage at Intersection of 1-95 ramp, Madison & New Jefferson Street. This item was brought to the Committee by David Lobl. His concern is that the signage at the referenced intersection is not sufficient to identify the location of New Jefferson Street and North Chatsworth Avenue. After discussion by members of the Committee, the Town Administrator indicated that the Highway Department would review this matter and contact the Thruway Authority.. 2. Letter from Edie Reidy—Re: Ferndale Shopping Center—Weaver Street Entrance. Edie Reidy appeared before the Committee to express her concern with respect to the traffic exiting the Ferndale Shopping Center onto Weaver Street. In addition, other residents appeared before the Committee to express similar concerns. The problem appears to be those motorists that are violating the no left turn prohibition at the Shopping Center exit. Lt.John Anderson was questioned as to the accident history for this intersection. Lt.Anderson indicated that there have been three accidents per year for the last three years. After further discussion, the Committee made the following recommendation. The Committee requested that the Town Administrator contact the owner of the Ferndale Shopping Center and work to develop a physical barrier that would prevent left turn movements out of the Shopping Center onto Weaver Street. In addition, the signage would be reviewed and a right turn only sign would be added if one now does not exist at that location. C 1My Documents\Traffic\Minutes 6-23-03 doc The matter will be placed back on the Traffic Committee's agenda in September, and the residents on Plymouth Road and the lower reaches of Weaver Street will be notified of the meeting.
