Meeting Minutes
Tuesday June 20, 2006
A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on June 20,
2006 in the Senior Center at the Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston
Post Road, Mamaroneck New York
Members Present: David Lobel, Chair Camille Odierna Nancy Angiullo Ronald

Others Present: Councilman Paul Winick, Liaison Lt. Paul Creazzo, Police
Department Mary Stanton, Assistant to the Town Administrator

Old Business:
(1) Approval of Minutes - April 25, 2006
(2) Resident Peter Perciasepe attended the last meeting and expressed concern about the
number of trucks and school buses on Myrtle Boulevard. Lt. Cindrich agreed to study the
situation and to provide the committee with a truck count. Due to the heavy volume of
work for the U.S. Golf Open it was not possible to produce the study.
Action: Deferred to September agenda.
(3) Resident Bruce Weinstein wrote on March 10, 2006 expressing concern about
vehicles speeding up Hickory Grove and across Rocky Road. Citing various accidents at
that location he requested a stop sign or police presence. Mr. Weinstein did not appear
before the committee for the third consecutive meeting.
Action: Committee requested a report on the accident history of the location. Lt.
Creazzo will provide it for the September meeting.
New Business:
(1) Planning Board referrals—Preliminary Subdivision and Site Plan Approvals.
Subdivision to create lots at 6 Bruce Road, Block 346, Lot 1 and 1045 Palmer Avenue,
Block 403, lot 1.
Action: As there was no traffic impact, no action was taken.
(2) Correspondence from Lisa Taubes dated May 17, 2006 regarding speeding at the
corner of Cornell Street and Fenimore/Grand Park Avenue requesting a stop sign

Action: No action taken. This intersection does not fall within the jurisdiction of the
Town. It is within the limits of the Village of Scarsdale.
(3) Correspondence from resident Lance Wachenheim, May 19, 2006 and e-mail
correspondence to Supervisor dated May 31 and June 2 concerning limited traffic
visibility on North Chatsworth where Rockingstone connects.
Action: Committee recommends eliminating parking in a twenty foot zone to
increase visibility by installing a "No Stopping, Standing or Parking" sign from the
driveway of the Kahn residence at 70 North Chatsworth to the Joyce residence at 88
North Chatsworth where Rockingstone and North Chatsworth meet. This action
requires a public hearing.
Mr. Wachenheim further requests that a"No Left Turn" sign which he believes used to
be on Weaver Street past the Althea Street curve indicating no left turn into Bonnie Way
be replaced.
Action: No action taken. Committee to study the request.
(4) Correspondence from Peter Hansen and Lotte Jorgensen dated June 1, 2006 and
Ellen and Mattew DiCicco dated June 5, 2006 concerning speeding on Leatherstocking
Lane and Country Lane where it meets Country Road. Request for"Children at Play"
sign.None of the petitioners appeared before the Committee.
Action: A motion was made to install a stop sign facing Country Lane as it intersects
Country Road. As the resolution did not pass it was re-calendared for the
September meeting.
Committee requested accident history of this location from the Police Department
for the September meeting.
(5) Correspondence from Lauren Azuolay dated June 8, 2006 concerning motorists
speeding down Windsor Street in the wrong direction.
The following residents, in addition to Ms. Azuolay, attended the meeting:
Patrick O'Rourke, 45 Harmon Drive and Ron Greenberg 39 Harmon Drive.
Action: Committee recommends:
(a) Two "No Outlet" signs to be installed facing Weaver at the entrance to
Harmon Drive
(b) One "Do Not Enter" sign on Windsor facing Harmon adjacent to the "One
Way" sign.
(c) Placing the location on the police department's selective enforcement list
immediately.
(6) E-mail; correspondence from resident Markus Ruschnabel June 15, 2006 concerning
speeding vehicles on West Hickory Grove Drive and Mardon Road. Requests either
making West Hickory Grove Drive a cul-de-sac by closing it down at the brook, or

turning it into a one-way street, or installing speed bumps or artificial barriers. Mr.
Rauschnabel did not appear before the Committee.
Action: Deferred to September agenda.
Other Business:
Ron Meister expressed concern about traffic backing up as a result of cars exiting the
ramp from the Village commuter parking lot on Myrtle Boulevard. He recommended that
the Town's Traffic Committee meet jointly with the Village of Larchmont's Traffic
Commission to explore options to alleviate this conjestion.
Next Scheduled Traffic Committee Meeting: Wednesday September 13,2006
