Meeting Minutes of
Tuesday, February 25, 2003

A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held at 8:00 PM in the Senior Center at the
Mamaroneck Town Center, located at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY, 10543 on Feb. 25, 2003.
Members Present:
David Lobl, Chairman - Nancy Angiullo- Richard Mari - Camille Odierna
Others Present:
Stephen Altieri Town Administrator
Lt. John Anderson Town of Mamaroneck Police Department
Judy Myers Town Board Liaison
Old Business:
1. Approval of January 28,2003 minutes.
Minutes approved.
2. Traffic Control—Rockland Avenue.
Discussion of possible traffic control measures. Committee members Don Derrico and Richard Man reported
their findings after a review of the street. Their recommendations are as follows:
a) Avon Road accelerates off Rockland Avenue at the top of the hill. Make this one-way towards Avon. Post
"Do Not Enter"signs at top of road at Rockland Avenue.
b) Proposed stop signs:
Westbound 1) Far end of Island at Avon Road.
2) At Woody Lane
Eastbound 1) At Crest Road
2) At Eton Road
Traffic Committee members Richard Mari and Don Derrico will visit Rockland Avenue with the Police Department to
review the above recommendations.
As part of the review, the Committee will evaluate parking on Rockland Avenue near Weaver Street.
Discussion of commercial traffic exclusion from Rockland Avenue. The Traffic Committee proposes to leave the
tonnage limit at 5 tons and to upgrade signage.
Rockland Avenue will be placed on the next agenda for final consideration for recommendation to the Town Board.
New Business
1. Request of Fire Department—Establish Parking for Deputy Fire Chief and Volunteer Firefighters.
The Traffic Committee approved the installation of a parking space for Alden Road for the Fire Chief. The
Committee also approved a permit system under the following conditions:
a) It will be active for one year.
b) A note to the Fire Department—requirements for active membership.
The next scheduled Traffic Committee meeting will be held on March 25, 2003.
