HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000_04_25 Traffic Committee Minutes A � r k TOWN OF MAMARONECK TRAFFIC COMMITTEE Meeting Minutes Tuesday, April 25, 2000 A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on April 25, 2000 in the Senior Center at Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, New York, 10543 Members Present: David Lobl Richard Mari Pincus Leitner Donald Derrico Nancy Angiulo Camille Odierna Members Absent: Roslind Weinstein Others Present: Judith A. Myers TOM Town Board Stephen V. Altieri TOM Town Administrator Lt. John Anderson TOM Police Department Committee Business: 1. Letter of Joan Mazo 35 N. Chatsworth Avenue. Concern is for the traffic exiting 35 N. Chatsworth Avenue onto Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue. Recommendation of the Traffic Committee: - Replace short section of double yellow center line on Madison Avenue as it curves into Fifth avenue with"cat tracks". - Install a driveway sign on Fifth Avenue to warn motorists of the Carlton Avenue driveway. 2. Councilwoman Myers memo. - No action required, matter taken care of previously. C:\My Documents\Traffic\Minutes 4-25-OO.doc • 3. Letter from Frederick Cuccia—Forest Place. - Committee reviewed its previous discussions on Forest Avenue. Increased selective enforcement will be used at this location. - Send proposal to Fred Cuccia. 4. Harmon Drive—Letter of Sabato Autorino and Margaret Degen. - Anya Sentry— 138 Harmon Drive appeared before the committee. Mentioned an auto accident that occurred within the last two weeks. Expressed concern over speed on Harmon Drive. - Discussion by the Traffic Committee of alternatives that may be viable. - Sabato Autorino provided historical background on the issues of Harmon Drive. - Mrs. Bliss—Harmon Drive. Concerned that the cars currently do not stop at the existing sign at Harmon Drive in the Village of Mamaroneck at the bottom of the hill. - Discussion of an alternative that would establish a separate traffic detail within the Police Department. - Motion by Lobl and recorded by Donald Derrico. - The Traffic Committee unanimously voted to recommend to the Town Board the installation of stop signs in both directions on Harmon Drive at the intersection of Revere Road. - Also, install "Stop Sign Ahead"signs at locations designated by the Police Department. 4a. Letter from Marc Martino—Parking on Richbell Rd. - Rich Mari reported that he spoke with Mr. Martino. Mr. Mari requested that parking on Richbell Road be placed on the May agenda. The suggestion is to eliminate some of the "No Parking Here to Corner"ordinances. 5. Letter of Margarethe Daly. - No action required. 6. Letter of Odette Schillings Request for Pedestrian Crosswalk Signs - Lt. Anderson will file a request. The next scheduled Traffic Committee meeting will be held on June 27, 2000.
