HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001_04_24 Traffic Committee Minutes f O�`.it � TOWN OF MAMARONECK TRAFFIC COMMITTEE 4P, m r o MEETING MINUTES 4ti x f x TUESDAY, APRIL, 24, 2001 • FOUNDED 1661 • A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on April 24, 2001 in the Senior Center at Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, New York, 10543 Members Present: David Lobl, Chairman Pincus Leitner Camille Odierna Richard Mari Nancy Angiulo Others Present: Judy Myers—Town Council Stephen V.Altieri -Town Administrator Lt. John Anderson • Committee Business: Approval of Minutes February 27,2001 1. Traffic Condition—East side of North Chatsworth Avenue and Rockingstone. Discussion by the Committee of David Lobl's memorandum regarding the narrow roadway created by the cars parked on the street. There is no history of accidents at this location. No action was taken on this matter. 2. Letter of Joanne Saporito re: Forest Avenue. The Committee reviewed the letter and discussed Ms. Saporito's concerns regarding speed on Forest Avenue. Lt. Anderson reviewed with the committee enforcement activities on the street. The Committee does not believe speed bumps are recommended at this location. Send letter to Saporito on behalf of the Committee indicating that speed bumps are not recommended and that further selective enforcement will be implemented. 3. Correspondence—Larchmont Gardens Civic Association. Reduction of speed limit to 20mph on both sides of Brookside Drive. The Committee discussed the issue and decided to defer this matter to the May meeting. Richard Mari will speak with Ruth Campanelli regarding this matter. This item is to be placed on the next agenda. 4. Correspondence from Carol Aloise re: Parking on Cabot Road. Question of long term parking on Cabot Road. Concern of Ms. Aloise is that commuters are parking in the street. Traffic Committee considered whether the parking time limit should be 2 or 3 hours. On motion by Lobl, second by Leitner. Enact a parking restriction of 2 hrs Monday — Friday 8:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m. except holidays. 5. Correspondence from Supervisor Valerie Moore O'Keeffe. Ellsworth/Hickory Grove Drive. Committee discussed this matter and decided to replace the yield sign with a stop sign. Unanimously approved by the Committee. Paint Crosswalk on Huegunot.
