New Matters: 1. 11 Alden Road/Loading Zone. Joanne Porrazzo appeared before the Committee and described the problem that led to her letter dated June 27, 2003, namely, that residents of 11 Alden Road find it difficult to unload/load items to/from vehicles using only the front entrance, which is on Copley Road and back from the road, or using the garage which is not easily accessible from the building. She requested an exception to the no parting area on Alden Road by their delivery entrance to create a Loading Zone that would be limited in time,to alleviate this problem. Charles Munvies (sp.), a resident since 1990, also appeared in support of this request and he told the Committee that he was been ticketed for parking in this area for no more than five minutes when he was loading/unloading from his car. The Committee discussed this matter and expressed their concern of whether Fire Department vehicles would be able to navigate Alden Road if parking were ok, [. LU. Glenn Road/ Stop Sign. Greg Bienstock appeared before the Committee and described the subject of his letter dated June 30, 2003, namely, that stop signs should be placed on Glenn in both directions at the intersection of Valley because of the speed and frequency of traffic on Glenn. The Committee did recommend, however, that this location be targeted for selective enforcement by the Police Department. The Committee reiterated that stop signs are not used to regulate speed, but rather, the police enforce the Town's speed limits. After discussion and consideration, the Traffic Committee declined to recommend to the Town Board the installation of stop signs on Glenn as requested_ 3. Mr. McElhinney appeared before the Committee. The Committee was supportive of the request in order to avoid address confusion, but expressed the view that this was more of a post office issue and not within the jurisdiction of the Committee. Additional New Matters: 1 Judy Myers informed the Committee about the Murray Avenue PTA's question about a school crossing guard at Colonial and Murray. The Committee expressed the view that it was better to cross the children in front of the school at the existing location and not at Colonial and Murray. 2. Mr. McElliney also reminded the Committee that the'No Parking Here To Corner" signs on Edgewood by Murray are still too close to the corner and that the Town should move them back off the corners. The Committee supports this request.
