HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010_06_23 Traffic Committee Minutes The Town of Mamaroneck TOWN OF MAMARONECK TRAFFIC COMMITTEE v.wv+.TowncfMamar one ck.or g MEETING MINUTES-June 23, 2010 A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on June 23, 2010, in the Courtroom at The Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY. Members Present: Others Present: Doris Shaw Block, Chair Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator Michael Harrington Nancy Seligson-Town Board Liaison Camille Odierna Nancy Angiulo Absent: William Zelenka Donald Sutherland Old Business: 1. Approval of Minutes-March 16, 2010. 2. Correspondence - Shanna Leila - Truck Traffic on Edgewood Avenue between North Chatsworth 8 Edgewood. Ms. Lelia appeared before the Traffic Committee in to support her request for a no truck traffic regulation on the street. Ms. Lelia submitted a petition for the residents as well as photographs of the street. The Traffic Committee raised question of the truck usage on the street and concerns that if trucks are diverted that they would go to other streets. The Traffic Committee requested that the Police Department attempt to determine the actual level of truck traffic on this section of Edgewood Avenue. Measure traffic at approximately 9:00AM and 5:00 PM. Place on September Agenda. Notify Ms. Lelia of September meeting. New Business: 1. Correspondence - Ned Rosenberry re: Stop Signs for Seton Road, Springdale and Beach Road. Mr. Rosenberry appeared before the Traffic Committee to present his request for the stop sign at the corner of Seton Road and Springdale. Refer to Police Dept.for further review. 2. Memorandum from Kim Larsen, Larchmont/Mamaroneck Safe Routes to School. OK to install crosswalk on Burton Road and Palmer Avenue. Slow limited site distance (no sidewalks). Check uniform case of signs for an appropriate sign installed in each direction. Speed Bumps-what are the issues? Look at parking to block out a crosshatching entire no parking area similar to the painting for the fire hydrant. 3. Special Permit Application. Mercedes Benz 2500 Boston Post Road. Committee recommended investigate non onsite parking for employees. Trader Joe's No decision. Build a stairwell for Boston Post Road. Petco Cindrich's recommendation Check entrances - one should be entrance only Next scheduled Traffic Committee Meeting -September 28, 2010
