HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010_02_09 Traffic Committee Minutes The Town of Mamaroneck TOWN OF MAMARONECK TRAFFIC COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES- FEBRUARY 9, 2010 A regular meeting of the Town of Mamaroneck Traffic Committee was held on February 9, 2010, in the Courtroom at The Mamaroneck Town Center located at 740 West Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY. Members Present: Others Present: Doris Shaw Block, Chair Barbara Spiridon Donald Sutherland Stephen V. Altieri, Town Administrator William Zelenka Lt. Michael Cindrich, Police Department Camille Odierna Nancy Angiulo Michael Harrington 1. Overnight Parking on Laurel Avenue. Mr. Dennis O'Toole appeared before the Committee regarding cars parking on the street for long periods of time. Mr. O'Toole presented photography showing cars parked in front of his home. According to Mr. O'Toole, other neighbors park their cars in the street. Recommendation of the Committee is to ban (3 overnight parking 3:00- 6:00 AM on Laurel Avenue). 2. Traffic-Parking Boston Post Road. Ms. Jane Lutz appeared before the Committee and explained their Concerns: • Excess Traffic, illegally parked vehicles • Cars parked on both sides • Resident's petition Solutions: • Make driveway one way • Check whether there is an easement given for the areas over Trader Joe's • Close gate at Central School? • Provide parking on one side of the road • Speed bumps- Are the questions offered that unique • Have Town Attorney do full research on area driveway • Question of signage • Call the acres Deferred to the March Agenda - Notify Burton Road residents. Provide information on the above questions. Residents to come back with recommendations on parking. Need sign on Larchmont Acres side of Burton Road at Palmer Avenue.
