held October 28th, 1925
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor
Burton at 2 o'clock P .M.
PRESENT: Supervisor Burton
Justices Boyd and Collins
Town Clerk Sherman
Special Counsel F.M.Gagliardi
lupervisor Burton stated the uruose of the
meeting which was called to entertain thie appointment of
a Receiver of Tares in the place of the late Wry T.
YcGivney, deceased. Justice Boyd thereupon Moved that
when the meeting adjourn it adjourn out of respect to
the memory of the late Mr. McGivney. Said motion was
seconded by Justice Collins and upon Roll Call unanimously
adopted.
Justice Boyd thereupon offered for adoption the
following resolution
RES017ED, that we deplore the untimely
death of the late Harry T . YcGivney, a
conscientious public official of the
Town who held the position of Deputy
Receiver of Taxes under Mr. T. Palmer
Howell for a period of six years , there-
after having become Receiver of Taxes
which position he has held since January
1 ,1922, and be it further
RESOLV^D, that the Chair appoint a
Committee to draft suitable resolutions
to be engrossed and presented to the
family of the deceased, and a copy- thereof
to be spread upon the minutes of a future
meeting of this Board.
Upon a mote being taken upon the foregoing resolu-
tions , same were declared unanimously adopted.
committee :The Supervisor thereupon appointed the following
Justice Boyd, Justice Collins , Superintendent of
Highways Coles and Mr. Gagliardi .
Justice 3oyd offered for adoption the following
resolution, be it
RESO:.VED, that Santo lanza be and he
hereby is appointed Receiver of Taxes
of the Tour, of Mamaroneck to fill the
vacancy caused by the deplorable and
untimely death of the late and beloved
Harry T. McGivney, dece-ased,for the

unexpired term to begin as soon
as he shall have qualified by
filing the customary oath of
office and a bond for the sumo of
620 ,000. which amount is hereby
fixed to be approved and filed
as required by the Westchester
--- County Tax pct , and be it further
RESOLVED, that the salary of the
Receiver of Taxes as above appointed
be and it hereby is fixes; at the
sure of : 3100, per annum, and the
Supervisor is hereby authorized
and requested to pay the same upon
filing proper vouchers ther,ubt, in
equal semi=monthly installments.
Upon a vote being taken upon the foregoing resolu-
tion, the same waE declared unanimously adopted..
Justice Collins reported that he had been advised
that the funeral services of the late Mr. McGivney will be
held next Thursday afternoon, October 29 , 1925, at 2 o' clock
and suggested that the town office be closed on that date
out of respect to the memory of the late Mr . Mc Giveny.
Justice Collins thereupon offered the following resolution:
RESOLVED, t hat the town offices of
the Town of Mamaroneck be closed during
the entire day of October 29, 1925, out
of respect to the memory of the late Mr .
oGivney, and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he
hereby is directed to notify the town
officials of the action taken by this
Board .
Upon a vote being taken upon the foregoing resolutions
the same were declared unanimously adopted.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned at 3 o ' clock Y .M.
